Awesome museum! If you want to see history and like technical items, this is your place! A submarine! A concord jet! A Russian version of the concord! WW2 vehicles!! This place rocks! You could literally spend an entire weekend here because around every corner, theres more fun stuff! It's really incredible to see vehicles that are iconic and the museum takes such great care of every artifact. If I could have a gripe, it's a lack of personnel at some of the exhibits you stand in line for. The Concord for example, some parents allowed their kids to run up and down this thing. This is not only a safety issue but they could damage the historical items. When you're done, stop and get a bite as it was tasty but a bit of a wait. read more

My husband and I last visited the museum in May 2016, and we had just as much fun when we went again in October 2025. In the nine years since we visited, we have often reminisced how awesome the museum was because it is chock full of cool things. The exhibits are even better now! My favorite area is the tank garden. When we visited, there was a special exhibit about the history of the Volkswagen GTI. We learned so much about how the car was positioned in the market against hot hatches from Opel. read more

Technik Museum is a 'technical' museum, as such they feature all sorts of 'technology' exhibits. They have a massive automobile exhibit, among others, but I went for their aviation exhibits, more specifically to see the Concorde next to the Soviet built version of the Concorde - the Tupulev TU-144. It is the only place in the entire world where these two aircraft are displayed together. I was blown away by this exhibit. To see these two marvels of aviation next to each other made me emotional. The museum have displayed these aircraft in such a beautiful way, mounted high above the roof of the museum at an angle that makes them appear as if they are taking off. It is the way these beautiful aircraft should be displayed. Both aircraft are fully accessible and available to see. There is a spiral staircase leading to each rear cargo compartment where you can walk the entire length of the aircraft all the way to each flight deck. Because of that angle I just mentioned, you will be quite winded by the time you reach the front of the airplane! Thank you Technik Museum Sinsheim for preserving and displaying these amazing aircraft. There are plenty of other aircraft on display as well. You could spend an entire day here and not see everything. My only complaint is that the IMAX movies are only in German with no additional subtitles in other languages. Had I known that I would have probably skipped the 45 minute movie. The good news is that there were a lot of amazing 3D Hubble Telescope scenes to look at. The staff are rude and arrogant, like in so many other places in Germany. June 2025 Between May and June 2025, I visited the Sinsheim Museum twice. The first visit was with a friend who traveled from Sri Lanka to attend an official meeting in Berlin and expressed interest in visiting a historical site in Germany. Although I live near Sinsheim, I had never visited the museum before, so I decided to accompany him there. I purchased tickets that included access to the 3D IMAX cinema. We arrived around 12:30 PM and initially spent approximately 30 minutes in the outdoor area before entering Hall 1, where we spent about two hours exploring the exhibits. Afterwards, we had lunch and then viewed the 3D documentary film, which lasted about 45 minutes and seemed primarily geared towards children. Following the movie, we spent another hour outside taking photos. During this time, we noticed many visitors accessing the aircraft and U-boat displays, but we were unsure how to reach those areas. By chance, we discovered Hall 2 and Hall 3 located in a corner of the museum complex. I returned to the information desk to inquire about access and asked to purchase additional tickets. Surprisingly, the staff member informed me that our original tickets already included entry to those halls, and now she provided us with an information leaflet and map. This was frustrating, as no one had communicated this earlier. We spent the remaining 45 minutes quickly touring the remaining halls. Unfortunately, the staff were notably unhelpful and displayed a dismissive attitude. My second visit occurred on 11 June 2025, when a friend's family visited from Switzerland. I accompanied them along with my own family, totaling two families with five children. This time, the tickets we received did not include the 3D cinema. Knowing the film would be engaging for the children, I asked the ticketing staff why the movie option had not been offered at the time of purchase and requested that it be added. The response from the staff member--an elderly woman--was unprofessional and inappropriate. She laughed, made a dismissive comment to another employee, and informed me that it was no longer possible to include the 3D film option since the tickets had already been issued. Her behavior was disrespectful and lacked basic customer service standards. Based on these two negative experiences--particularly the poor communication and discourteous behavior from the museum staff--I have decided not to recommend the Sinsheim Museum to friends or family in the future. read more

Three hours and it would not have been enough but I ended up being limited by the battery power on my phone for taking pictures and their closing time. It started off with the Concorde. I was never able to fly in one so this opportunity to board one, walk the aisle and peer into the cockpit made the visit. Absolutely perfect. Of course, the Russian TU-144 was great too. There was no one else up there at the time, so it was quite perfect. The Blue Flame - the fastest rocked-powered land vehicle of all time - is here and that's pretty darned cool. Impossible to pick one. It was nearly overwhelming and there was still more that I just didn't have time or energy for. This museum deserves a full day trip. This museum is a special treat all by itself. This Technik Museum is a must see located outside Sinsheim I left Stuttgart early morning and made the drive and arrived before the gates opened and spent the entire day here. I still felt rushed and didn't spend the time required to see everything I now see why they recommend a two day pass. The displays are incredible I love the roof top exhibits with all the aircraft mounted as if they are in actual flight and they give you unlimited access so climb the winding stairs and get on board although they are all impressive I loved walking up to the cockpit on the Concorde F-BVFB I never had a chance to fly in this magnificent airplane so this is as close as I will ever get. The shear number of items on display is unbelievable as is the detail taken to transition one display to the next. I took hundreds of pictures I just wanted to capture everything. Everyone I met was incredibly nice and helpful taking time to deal with my language barrier. I was amazed of how knowledgable some of the visitors were and a few I met made my trip more enjoyable if I had just walked around completely on my own. read more

This Museum is one of the best collections I have seen in a long time! The museum is set up by different categories in two buildings of Aircraft, Autos, Racing Cars, Bicycles, and Motorcycles in one building. The second building has an amazing display of war memorabilia from the WW I and II eras. The second building also has the display of farm tractors and old trucks dating back as far as 1920. The tanks and war vehicles were a ride range of tracked vehicles to tanks. I literally could have spent all day in here. I took pics right up to the point my battery died. I still didn't get enough of them. I didn't get the chance to check out anything in the IMAX theater but there will definitely be a next time!!! Wow. Worth a special trip to see, the Auto & Technik Museum is without doubt a world class museum. This museum has a huge collection of pretty much everything! Planes, trains and automobiles? Yes. Not to mention rockets, tanks and scooters. 3D IMAX! Seriously, this museum's collection is on par with the Smithsonian in Washington but it is presented in a far more eclectic manner. Funky mannequins abound, often putting a whimsical spin on the display. It works - really well. While you can wander through the buildings in a day, take two days and explore in-depth. Make sure you climb to the roof and visit the Concorde and TU-144 displays, then take the slide down! read more

Made a special trip to Europe just to visit this museum and it's partner in Speyer. Getting here by DB was easy since the museum has its own station. I refer to these two museums as sensory overload, quite like visiting the Louvre. My highlights, the reconstructed Pkw V, Panther, which can be controlled from a operating station. The tracks turn forward and backwards, the turret turns both directions and up/down and finally the sound recording. As a WWII enthusiast, I was very satisfied with the collection dedicated to this era. Here are so many rarities. Almost all of the rolling stock have placards both in English/German. read more

Suggested by a friend who is a plane nut, as is my spouse, we stopped here on the way, so to say, to the Schwarzwald (a bit out of the way). We first toured the parking lot, then went inside the gates for the outside placards and then inside. 16 euros per person and that is without the IMAX theater, but that we could live without. We had only 4 hours, but could have stayed for another 2. So much to see, and we loved the mannequins there as they were dressed in the same era clothes as the cars, planes, or bikes on display, as well as the military uniforms. What a lot to take in and we had a bit of overload, so maybe two days would have been better. We didn't do the slide, but it looked fun, you must take a sack with you when you go up, there are none up above. Two halls to look thru, and lots of placards. We both think the museum needs someone who knows English, as the translations left something to be desired. Sometimes wrong info, sometimes just amusingly translated, and sometimes laugh out loud "Google like translations". However, you get the gist without knowing German. No one really walking around to ask questions of, which would have been nice. This is a place to visit, even if not enamored of cars, motorbikes and planes, just a blast into the past. read more
