A fun fact about Diggers, is that every single item in the store is the same price, $1.25. The not fun fact is that there is no organization other than the media platform. So be prepared to search bin or shelf or table on your own. The items seemed clean and in variable state and age. It was a lot of fun. Everyone found something, even if not looking for something specific. The only staff member is at the sales counter. By not having significant organization or staff to help they can offer such an incredible value. Go there with an open mind and lots of patience and it will pay off.

I wish I had taken a picture of it. It's listed for $675, and the proprietor said he wouldn't make much money off of selling it. There is also a rack of high-quality thrift store jackets. The prices seem very reasonable. A high-quality vinyl LP costs about $20, depending on the rarity. What also struck me was how clean everything is. I've seen so much thrift store stuff that needs a good cleaning. I accept that, but this is a nice surprise. I will probably start making excuses to visit my brother, just so I can stop by the shop.

I wanted to give my cousin the same memory, and since vinyl is the the thing these days I got her her own record player. I wanted to get a few albums to go with it so I grilled her on her faves artists then put together a list of some artists she may like based on her interests. Then I took that list and I went to Underground Sound's website to see what was in stock. I landed on two records I think she's going to really like (Tegan and Sara, "The Con" and the first Gorillaz record) and was able to purchase them online for instore pick up. While I love browsing through the stacks, the busy holiday time doesn't leave much time for digging so buying online for pick up was super convenient. Apple was the only serious stop I made but for a quick drink at the Starbucks kiosk in the center hub, which apparently no longer exists. However, the Apple Store has been greatly expanded, even bigger now than my Apple Store at home which is fairly large compared to most. I regretted that I did not have time to browse it as none of my companions was interested in joining me and the goal the day we were here was to give our almost 10-year-old granddaughter some treats at the mall. She's not yet a tween but she loves the mall for a special outing. We had some snacks, there were plenty in the center, including Pinkberry and Auntie Anne's and several more too far away for me to check out. We also visited a few stores, Claire's and Bath and Body Works for her and Von Maur for me to see as I had never seen one before. It met our needs for a rainy day and not something I do often. Our local mall closest to home is outdoors, but a traditional enclosed mall is 20 minutes away. This was only 10 minutes or less from our hosts' home. This mall was very busy on a rainy September weekend, though there was plenty of outdoor parking available in the mall lot. I would like to note that this mall has very attractive and well maintained restrooms, not always the case with large malls.
