From the entirely edible menu, literally edible, to the smoking drink, the steak that melted in my mouth, to the breathtaking show, that had movement at every eye angle. Young, to the wise, will enjoy this. Note, I was planning on going to the Coco bongo show, unknowingly, thinking it was a Las Vegas type of show, to finding out it was a party venture, so I swapped that out for the Cirque du Soleil and it was the best decision of our entire vacation in Mexico. Yes, it may cost a little bit more, but it is totally worth every penny! The staff was super friendly and helpful with my mother, who was unable to walk long distances. So definitely handicap, accessible and friendly. They have wheelchairs to get family members that have disabilities up to their seats and elevators as well to help.

She escorted us in for a quick, private vip cocktail show. Afterwards we were seated right in front of the stage where live music was being played as they served us dinner. The service was excellent and the food was a visual performance in itself! This is a must see if you are in the Cancun/ Riviera Maya area.

I had an Excellent experience with Ellie. I thought the illusions were so much fun! The cake was incredible; it was definitely one of my favorite parts of the exhibit. This is especially good for people who like to pose for pictures or those of us who like to challenge ourselves to like the process. We (the photographer and I) had the entire place to ourselves, so we took a stroll around. I could see that if there were more people, we'd have to be strategic about where to start. It's a good time if you're in Playa and want to spend a little time in a museum.

Once inside we paid at a tiny kiosk then they takes you to the entrance. Once inside the museum you wait in a theatre for your guide collect you and to explain the art and take pictures for you. You will be given special sockets to wear as to not damage the art on the floor. The museum takes the top floor of the building. Amazing what you see through the lens of your camera. The building use to be a cinema and has been converted to a museum, Well worth a visit. The artist use to live in Playa Del Carmen, now lives in Italy. It's hard to explain it's a must see on your bucket list. To see the illusions through the lens of your camera or smartphone. We were there when the museum first opened so we had the whole place to ourselves.

The theater itself is state of the art ... all digital, the latest sound system, etc. I was surprised that you could even select your seats at the ticket counter, not unlike your seat on an airplane. The only negative? Climate control! The AC was set low enough to be uncomfortable without a light jacket or sweatshirt. Overall a wonderful experience. We'll go back (with our jackets)!

Movie tickets were EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE (about $8 for TWO TICKETS WHHHHAAAAAT), and the movie was in English with Spanish subtitles. (Be sure to check the website to see what movies are in English with Spanish subtitles and which ones are dubbed in Spanish.) The snacks were also very affordable, and they had some really unique, delicious offerings. My favorite thing that we ordered was the Doritos Nacho Cheese popcorn which was cheesy Dorito flavored WITH lots of Dorito chip pieces mixed in. You can split your popcorn flavors (they have so many flavors of popcorn!) so you can get more than one in a bin. They also had super cool trays for food that fit into the cupholders of the seat so each person could have a mini-table in their lap. The seats were extra comfortable, and I loved the way the theater seating was placed extra steep so that even if you were sitting behind Lebron James you would still have a great view of the screen.

When you're done with the beaches, snorkeling, and tequila tastings, sometimes the most exotic thing you can do in Cozumel is... go to the movies. And if you want to catch a flick in Spanish, with locals, not tourists, Cinépolis Cozumel is the place. This is a modern Mexican cinema chain, and the Cozumel location has everything you'd expect: comfortable stadium seating, blasting A/C (blessing after a day in the Caribbean sun), and concessions that go way beyond popcorn. Want nachos drenched in real cheese? Check. Want caramel popcorn bigger than your head? Check. Want to grab a liter of soda that would make an American AMC blush? Double check. They were showing Tron: Ares when I visited, dubbed in Spanish -- and honestly, watching a Disney sci-fi sequel in another language adds a whole new layer. The neon visuals, Daft Punk-inspired soundscapes, and cyber-futuristic world paired weirdly well with Spanish dialogue. It's the kind of thing you can only experience here, and it made me appreciate the film in a whole new way. Cinépolis isn't trying to be fancy; it's trying to be reliable, and it nails it. The theater is clean, the sound system is sharp, and the crowd is passionate. You're not sitting next to cruise ship passengers here -- you're sitting next to locals on date night, families escaping the heat, and kids geeking out over superheroes. Cinépolis Cozumel is more than a movie theater -- it's a slice of everyday island life, and a perfect break from sun and sand. Whether it's Tron: Ares or the latest Marvel flick, this is where Cozumel comes to watch the world light up on screen. Cinépolis Cozumel is proof that sometimes the best cultural exchange is nachos + sci-fi.
