Wow! And I mean WOW!! The last time I visited a club like this was the erstwhile Juliana's in Tokyo back in the early 1990s. I went with a group, and it definitely helps that one of us knew the owners of this place as we were escorted straight into a VIP elevator which took us to the top floor -- a rooftop club with a retractable ceiling and a HUGE full bar! We started the night up there and it was only us, no other people. What a treat! Afterward, we took the elevator back down to the main venue, a giant hall with lots of private tables and dancers up on stage. Personally, this was probably one of the coolest clubs I've been to. We all came in as a huge group of girls and one of our guy friends and didn't have a problem getting in. We also booked our tickets in advance. Definitely a big club for study abroad students. There was a good amount of security to make sure things weren't getting out of hand and I felt safe for the most part. We spent around €25 as a cover fee that included two drinks. The mixed drinks we got had some very heavy pours. There are seven floors and a few rooms were closed but it was still a very fun experience. There were people here from all over the world and I had a great time. The music was good in the main room and Latin room-- a fair amount of techno. There were smoke bubbles coming down with lots of lights and people seemed to be having a great time. The people that work at the door are very racist. If you are colored folks, pls avoid this place because you will feel unwelcome by the energy you get from the people at the door. I understand that I didn't get a ticket in advance and I was willing to pay more ($50 euros) for admission but when I spoke to locals in line, everyone response was "omg,do not pay that price,it's a rip off piece, we paid $25 euros". Their goal is hussle you and get as much as they can out of you. Although this place is big in size, locals will tell you other clubs better clubs to go to. Avoid this place at any cost. No doubt the worst club in Madrid. The entry fee is like 30 euros and the drinks are 15 euros. The staff is incredibly rude and will not try to help you in times of need. The black lady at coat check was probably the rudest staff member there and treated me like dirt even though I am a native Spanish speaker. I have never felt so much disrespect from club staff and will definitely not be going back there again. Again, i warn everyone to BEWARE of the rude staff. Worst place ever. They were not accommodating. I lost my jacket at the coat check and they wouldn't help me. Worst place I've ever been to and rudest staff. I hate this place. Specifically, the black lady at the coat check was the rudest human I've ever met in my life. She gave me a lost and found form and I was filling it out but couldn't understand one of the Spanish sentences so I proceeded to try to ask her for help. Terrible service. The bar tender in the karaoke area was very rude. On top of this I checked in a jacket and accidentally lost my ticket. I showed them pictures of me wearing my jacket and the brand and the worker accused me of lying and they kicked me out of the club. I had to wait in the cold outside until everyone in the club had received their jacket to speak to a manager and even then I was treated extremely poorly. Kapital turned me away because "the quality of the shorts wasn't good" meanwhile there was men entering the club with shorts with worst quality!! I was turned away and told to change, in which I did. I came back with a better outfit on and was told "this outfit isn't good enough". Apparently, kapital is the MET GALA....they judge outfits....Meanwhile, they were judging my outfit, they were letting men in with even worse outfits then I. A man with a stretched camo t-shirt got in..... They didn't give me a refund... I had to ask myself, why didn't I get in but other men did. I didn't get in simply because I'm a person of color. First, I want to say that, my experience may be different than others because society sees me as a "nice and pretty girl." The bouncers and security guards were hospitable to my friends and I. We ventured to Madrid in early May of this year, Teatro Kapital was the best way to end our stay in Spain. Each of the seven floors had a different theme and people from all over the world. I spoke with some British boys in VIP and they allowed my friends and I hang out with them!Madrid is an enchanting city and we did not see enough of it. This is my favorite club ever..I came here on a Saturday night and had the funnest clubbing experience! Cover charge was 15 euros, but it included a mixed drink. The price for me was well worth it. There are 7 different floors, each with its own music. The music was popping on every floor, and it was super cool how the you couldn't hear the other music from the other floors. I loved being able to look and see the other floors when dancing. The first floor was super fun-this blast of air/smoke would go off and was super nice. There are tons of couches to sit on in the club which was really nice. Definitely a young and diverse crowd, I met met from all over the world here. I think One Direction was even here at the club the night before - it is that popular! I loved everything about the club, nothing I don't believe will top this clubbing experience here. My friends can't shut me up about Teatro Kapital. I have updated this review and would like to re-emphasize, that throughout 3 months traveling throughout Europe and going to many clubs, this is the BEST! read more

We were a bit nervous to come here after reading the negative reviews on the bouncers being racist, but we didn't encounter any problems. = ENVIRONMENT = The club itself is very spacious and boasts 7 floors. Unfortunately, when we went which was on a Thursday, only two floors were open. The main floor (floor 1) and the 7th floor (a hookah lounge). The main floor was quite large and had one very large bar with two bartenders, and another one near the main dancing area. There were also reserved seats so if you wanted to get bottle service... I would recommend it! It's quite affordable as well. The hookah bar was BEAUTIFUL, and the perfect place to relax after a night of dancing. Perfect for photos, and just to meet new friends or keep a good conversation going. = PRICE = So, we were on the guest list and it was a set price for 2 drinks which I think is a great deal! = MUSIC = The music wasn't too bad, sometimes it was hard to dance to some of their selections but most of the time they played hit songs with a nice beat. = CROWD = Definitely international with people all over the world. My friend and I got turned down from going in for "other reasons". We got there early, registered for the QR code online, and even reached out to someone who worked there beforehand. Once we got to the door the bouncer asked how many of us in our party and we said 2. Immediately he said we can't get in. Would not give us a reason. Kapital has several floors with different bars and music. I really liked the music they played and the style of the people. It's the place to see and be seen in Madrid. I think it's my second favorite club in Europe, the first being Opium Mar in Barcelona. The men there are very handsome and super nice! They dance so well too! My friends and I mainly stayed in the VIP room where they mainly play hiphop and top 40.It wasn't bad but the main floor was better because they had special effects like fog and confetti and also the people were all there. As many of the reviews say, this place is EXTREMELY RACIST. Me and a group of my friends showed up to Kapital and waited in the extremely long line. We were all dressed fairly nicely. Once we reached the door the bouncers let in all of my friends except for my two and I. We are all black males. The bouncers claimed it was because we weren't "button-up shirts". My friends and I waited and watched as the bouncers let in countless white boys wearing high school track tee shirts and other extremely casual clothing. Another group of my friends who were all black males got rejected, changed into button-up shirts and were turned away again. Then it happened again to another group of my black friends. DON'T GO HERE. Don't support this racist institution. Don't be complicit. Stay woke. Just go to literally any other club. They're not hard to find and are way less expensive as I've heard. read more

BEST CLUB EVER!!! I went with a group of friends (all black). We were optimistic at first because we read reviews saying the club was racist. I did not sense any racism. The employees were so nice and treated us like queens. The club is 7 floors and each floor plays different music. Beautiful 7-story nightclub. My girlfriends and I went to Teatro Kapital on our last night in Madrid before hopping on a train to San Sebastian. We waited in a short line at about 12am. At the door we paid a cover of 15 euros, which included any drink of your choice, so we went with a tall glass of tequila with pineapple juice back, which lasted us each a while. Dress code is dressy - skirt/top or dress and heels for ladies and collared shirt and dress shoes for guys. Once you walk onto the main dance floor, you're greeted by the huge LED screen and hot go go dancers. On this particular night a majority of the crowd were tourists - we met people from Chile, Slovakia, and as far as California. I enjoyed that it wasn't too crowded that night -- there was room to dance and it was easy to walk through the crowd. The music on the main floor was mostly house and top 40, and ladies be weary -- once in a while they'll pump a huge gust of air and fog onto the entire dance floor, and i mean HUGE. It's a little hard to anticipate because it won't necessarily be synced with the drop, so we were caught off guard the first time we experienced it. This is your chance to do one of three things -- 1) raise your arms and dry those armpits, 2) run away from the creeper guy you're dancing with (the fog is THAT dense), or 3) if you're a guy, grab some ass and pretend like it wasn't you. In any case, once they're done blasting that air, your hair won't be in the same place it started, it's that powerful. Each floor of the club was open, so we ventured to each one, but we enjoyed the rooftop floor. Once you've climbed all the stairs, you get to the top and it's open air with a bunch of tables and booths. You're free to smoke on this floor, and the music is softer, so you can have a decent conversation. There's also a full bar in the back. One day, I hope to return and see what Kapital is like on a Friday or Saturday night. read more

My belief is that the amount of alcohol consumed and the level of fun you have at a club is extremely positively correlated. Before going to Kapital, however, I had a large paella meal and was too full to drink so much liquor, so I only had one drink... but I can still say that this is my FAVORITE club I've ever been to... ever. There are 8 floors of fun. You'll never be bored.. and there's something for everyone. We started off at the top and made our way down. Since we got there kind of early to avoid the lines, the top floor was the perfect place to start, just a casual lounge area for drinking, smoking and conversation. The 1st floor was my favorite. SO much fun. The DJ was bumping good songs, and they had these random cool things like almost naked trapeze guys dancing on a dangling rope above the dance floor, this awesome blast of air/smoke thing that they blast onto the dancers, confetti, and long a hundreds of long balloons that fell from the ceiling. I wish I could give this place zero stars! Not like my review will negatively impact them anyways, but I will speak my truth. I've been living in Madrid for a month now as an English teacher and have dealt with some insane amounts of racism and have kept it away from my family back home but today was just the icing on the cake. A friend of mine and her girlfriends were visiting from France and some after we had some tapas and visiting a couple of places, we decided to check this place out. When we arrived, there was a line and we stood in it as is normal but the bouncers let everyone in but when it was our turn, he pulled the 4 of us out of line and asked about our invitation. The ladies thought it was strange he didn't ask anyone else for invitations but I already knew what it was; I was the WRONG COLOR. But, eager than jump to conclusions, we found someone with an invitation and joined him, but once again were pulled out of line. I tried speaking to the bouncers in Spanish, trying to ask what the problem was but they insisted that they couldn't understand what I was saying. So I motioned to speak to them in English which I knew the spoke but they once again acted as though they couldn't understand me. It was clear that my SKIN COLOR was the problem but because they kept asking my group specifically about our invitation, my friends went up to talk to them after I had a heated conversation with them which was profanity laced. They told my female friends (ALL WHITE) that they could come in but I wasn't allowed in there. They had no problem acknowledging their racism. Once I started screaming and telling everyone how racist they were, they called for their black employee and pointed at him saying how can we be racist, we have a black guy working in here ‍. This place is a sorry excuse for a night club. Please, if you don't want to be judged than don't speak English and don't show ID unless you are asked for it. The moment they see your a foreigner its key terms for "make them buy a table" We were suckered to pay for a bottle if we wanted to go in, which we did and found that we were placed on the 7th floor with all other idiots who didn't get the raciest memo of this club. I have to be honest and say that most big clubs are not for me, but for those that like several floors of music and dancing than you might be happy to find this club. We were in the hip hop section and got a table for my friends birthday, which was around 50 euros per person. I just could not see the hype. The crowd was ok but nothing special. The same could be said for the type of music . Regular entry was also really expensive . ENGLISH: Personally I never ever write negative reviews, but Teatro KAPITAL thoroughly pissed me off. Last night was crowded, which made the line very long so it took super long to get in. Every worker including the security, cashiers, and bartenders are all incredibly rude and disrespectful. I was in a large group and we had to pay a lot of money to get in and were treated very very poorly by the KAPITAL workers. By the end of the night I got into an accidental altercation in which I accidentally bumped into someone at the club andd ended with me GETTING BEATEN BY THE SECURITY AND THROWN OUT WITHOUT MY JACKET. I will never ever ever ever go to TEATRO KAPITAL again and you should not either if you want to have a good time go somewhere else. Also, even though I am white, they are incredibly RACIST to black people, Asians, etc. Lesson for all English speakers and foreigners: WATCH OUT. I don't think you have truly seen people go hard in a club until you go to Spain. A big group of us went on a Monday night (or maybe Sunday night??) and somehow the place was still packed by 1AM (not like you couldn't breathe packed but a bit ridiculous since people worked/had class the next day). This is one of the most popular clubs in Europe and I can see why. My friends and I had an amazing time, we stayed out all night and a few people didn't straggle in until it was time to get up for class that day. The place is a bit expensive (drinks don't come cheap) but there are 7 floors with a bunch of different themes, the place is truly an experience. The music was good and the people there were fun. I will say that the guys were extremely aggressive, but I don't think that was exclusive to Kapital, all the clubs in Madrid that I went to seemed to be like that for the most part. So pro tip: Do not go to the club alone or with people you don't think will have your back (really any club anywhere). I thought I knew how to go out hard, and then I came to Madrid... Rather, and then I came to Kapital. A club not really getting going until 3am isn't that crazy a concept. It's a bit extreme, but not hard to fathom. However, a club with seven floors? Very hard to fathom! This place is an absolute monstrosity. There are a total of seven floors, and each plays a different genre of music. Given this level of diversity, it's no wonder this club gets absolutely packed! I've literally never seen a line outside a club this long. The venue is a lot of fun and you can actually see the entire club though the glass on each floor. The music is good and the crowd is very diverse in terms of age range and culture. It's also a much friendlier experience than a club of this caliber in the U.S. This is definitely a place you must experience at least once. As a visitor to Madrid, this has to be on your list.
