My first inquiry, never got a response. Sent another one in, never heard back. Finally emailed them, and they responded. This was about 2 weeks later, and I finally found someone else. There were still jobs I needed, but their crew did not want them because they weren't enough hours. I just put in another request. Never heard back. Sent them an email and got the same response. "I don't know if I can find anyone based on the hours." They need to specify that there is a certain amount of hours AND respond in a timely fashion. I have moved on.

We were greeted by 3 staff members (apologies I don't remember their names). I initially thought this was just a venue to smash stuff but it was explained that this is a mental health venture aimed at spiritual healing. After signing the waivers and donning our PPE, we went in. The wooden structure isn't huge so you cant get running starts or make any long over hear arm movements, but it ended being just the right amount of space to get your smash on. Initially I was caught up in the novelty of smashing things, but a point in time came where that novelty faded and I found myself tapping into an aggression and emotion I did not go there with. It wasn't until I stood there out of breath with my hands sore that I truly understood what this place was for. That session provided a space and avenue for me to truly let go, for just a little bit. If you haven't done that recently (or ever), you need to book a session to understand what im talking about. A challenge was issued to me to put in work on the water heater and I made a decent hole in it but that thing was tough. They sure don't make em like they used to.

The site was well furnished with safety gear (goggles, gloves, etc.), tools (bats, sledgehammers, etc.) and objects to smash (microwave oven, water heater, glass bottles, etc.). My experience adopting a kitten from here was wonderful…read more These people really love cats - from what I can tell, it's a pretty small group that rescues and fosters on the side while working full-time. I fell in love with a kitten online, but there was already an applicant ahead of me, so I resigned myself to accepting I probably wasn't going to get him. But Pam was so great - she stayed in constant communication with me, and when she hadn't heard back from the other applicant in two days, she emailed me at 10pm to say I had first dibs (which I feel is fair) and that she'd make sure the kitten was at the adoption event for me to come see the next afternoon. So we headed over to Pet Valu in Clifton to meet the kitten and adored him right away. Kristen was so sweet, helpful and genuinely happy to see that one of her kittens had found a new home. She provided us with tons of info and advice, along with a Pet Valu adoption coupon kit. Their vetting process is pretty standard; you fill out an application with details about your living situation, current pets etc. In the final stages, you sign a contract promising not to declaw and that you'll send them proof of having the kitten spayed/neutered. The experience was quite painless (unlike interactions I've had in the past with some larger/more well-known rescue groups), and these women are doing a fantastic job. Definitely check out their kitties if you're looking to adopt!
