What I especially love about this place, is that when most places insist that a large groups books together, individual people can book to go on the track. Also they cater for ages from just three years old with tiny go-karts, to all different stages until adulthood. So younger people get to see and be around the same environment as hard core racers. This place really is for professional serious would be racing drivers, it is not just a fun place for stag do's. Cleverly though younger people do go on a different track. The track for older children and adults is really big, it seems to be much bigger than most indoor tracks. The track for younger children is smalle, but perfectly fine and definitely not too small. The staff are friendly, helpful and it is professional and well run. The only massive headache is their website which has an appalling booking system, first time I just could not work it and had to call to do my booking over the phone. This place is a massive recommendation if you want to go go-karting for your children or as an adult. We travel quite long distance to come here and believe it is definitely worth it.

Full of energy. Liked throwing and climbing on things. A bit like me, really. So I decided that we would do something that would excite and then tire them in equal measure, so they didn't spend time asking me questions on the long bus ride home , following up each of my responses with the word Why? until I ran out of answers and my head exploded or something. So Go-Karting was the choice. Ridiculously sanitised yet giving the appearance of danger; therefore keeping the parents' minds at rest while ensuring the little ones weren't bored to tears. And the Oasis Karting Project is a centre with a difference; in that they use karting as a vehicle to teach young people life skills. No, I didn't think it was possible either, not at those speeds. But you can apparently. It's all about showing young people how to operate within clear boundaries, take measured risks, develop self control, responsibility and patience. I assumed this venture had been set up by a social entrepreneur; the mission statement was telling. They do a whole range of other activities as well; from outdoor climbing, long walks; and games. They're well looked after here and they have summer camps that take them out to explore the great outdoors. They're a charity too, so you can donate if you really like what they do and their teams of volunteers enables them to keep the costs low.

I had no idea, that go-karting is sooooo much fun! Wow...I really thought I was being magically…read moretransported into a game of Super Mario Kart, when we were all racing along the track. Fantastic! The Raceway is located in the Docklands, about a ten-minutes ride from the O2/North Greenwich tube station. Conveniently enough, they offer a shuttle service that brings you to and from the location. Once we arrived at the track...all giddied up with excitement...we were given our racing suits - funnily enough they were green ones and red ones, so that we indeed looked like Mario and Luigi. After a brief saftey (insider joke) video demonstration, we gathered at the "pit" to watch as the group ahead of us was circling around the race track. To be honest, I had never done this before and I was a little bit nervous about the upcoming "task", but that fear would go up in smoke very soon... Here's what's happened: we were a group of 12 people and as soon as it was our turn, we were led to our respective karts and we were then able to familiarise ourselves with our "machine". Then, we had a 10-minute practise round, were we were able to test out our boundaries, such as: how fast can you go; how sharp can you turn without spinning; what does it feel like to bump into someone etc. Then it was time to get serious: we were lined up in order of how well we'd done during the practise round...and then, as soon as the 5th red light blinked, we kicked the gas pedals and were magically transported into aforementioned video game. Seriously, it was so much fun: personally I enjoyed overtaking people most (don't we all???). The race lastest for 30 minutes and while this is quite a long time, I didn't get bored at all. In fact, there was so much happening: people got stuck on the race track after taking a curve too closely; people were bumping into you (or the other way around) when they needed to pass each other; and above all there were the race marshalls who would wave their flags to tell you to slow down or to be careful. After the race was over - all of us being quite sweaty - the award ceremony took place right away. Afterwards we all settled down in the bar to discuss the race over a couple beers. Very nice! Note: I'm giving this venue 5 stars - just because I had so much fun and I think that alone deserves a good rating. However, there were a few things that I think could be improved, such as the customer-service-orientedness of the crew or the coziness of the bar/restaurant. Overall though: thumbs up and I'm already thinking of when I'll be back next time!

When I went to inform the staff of my ghastly discovery I was told to shut up and mind my own business I felt so threatened by their lack of professionalism so I asked to speak to the manager, the manager then called me names such as a "dirty little monkey" and a "stupid female dishwasher who should have stayed in the kitchen" I couldn't believe what I was hearing so I ran away and cried. as I was sitting outside a rat ran past the car park I was so disgusted but the little rat came and asked me what's wrong so I explained to him the situation he then told me not to worry about it and he gave me a little forehead kiss he then went into the establishment and bit off the managers ear and handed it to me :) that really brightened up my mood and made me feel better about the situation as for that manager I hope he learned his lesson that little encounter with the rat should teach him not to be sexist.

Hard to believe nobody has written a review of this place! It is one of my favorite outdoor tracks…read morewith regular practice days even throughout the winter (can't say as I brave it post sept tho). Open practice is reasonably priced and costs about £40 for 30/40 mins in single engine 4 stroke kart. That might not sound like much for your money but unless you are regular outdoor karter believe me it is long enough on what is a challenging track for novices or indoor karters. Being single engine karts they are light enough for women to handle, my girlfriend likes to come along and have a go and some other tracks karts are too heavy for her to handle for more than 15/20 minutes. Buckmore also has great amenities. It is a fun day out for the guys or a mixed group. If you want a good go-karting experience that is more challenging than an indoor track this is great place to go.

This is one of the better karting centres in Cambridgeshire as it has a very large outside track…read morethat is usually open even if there is a slight bit of rain. They hold corporate races as well as team challenges and team endurance races, and if that's not enough they also hold arrive and drive events at a very reasonable price. The karts are very well maintained to make sure that all racing is fair and fast. One really good thing about Red lodge is you don't need any specialist equipment to race; they supply everything you will need to race including helmet, race overalls and gloves if you so wish. This definitely a good day out for the big kid in you.
