Let's keep this 3 star trend going for Revolution Karting, shall we?
This was my first adult karting experience. By that I mean I'm a grownup and I get to go on the grownup track. And overall, I had a super fun time learning that I'm super crap at karting and am far too careful a driver to be reckless enough to accomplish anything in the grand karting scheme of things.
Located in Mile End, Revolution is fairly easy to get to and has some parking in back, which is quite convenient. The karts are electric, which I understand means they don't go quite as fast, and need to be recharged after every go-round.
£25 will get you two 8-lap sessions, for a total of about 30 minutes actual driving time. The other 30 minutes is spent getting a debrief on safety and the cart from an adorably surly older gentleman, as well as getting your "safety gear" appointed. While I understand the helmets and the sanitary balaclavas for said helmets, I'm a bit befuddled by the rain jackets when it's not raining. I'm extra befuddled by the rain jackets because they were clearly well used. And by well used, I mean mine smelled a little funny. Like the bowling shoes of the rain jacket world.
Tip to the ladies... don't wear open toed shoes. I brought a pair of sneakers to wear, thankfully, but I noticed that they had loaner sneakers out if you made the mistake of having the tootsies out. read more
