Add Verizon to the list of companies who scam. Customer service is non-existent after using this company for several years. I can't wait to fire them and I will never be back.
The manager of the Eagle River store is very manipulative and untrustworthy in my experience. I am a senior and I purchased a phone from this guy and he roped me into a 3 year contract telling me he will buy my old phone but not telling me I am roped into a 3 year contract.
The credit they give you for old equipment is spread out over 3 years. When you call in for help, the sleazy phone reps will change your plan and put you on more expensive plans after lying about it. The company uses very confusing and unscrupulous sales tactics in my experience and refuse to put anything in writing over the phone. They claim they don't have access to email. I have called requesting help and the reps will hang up on me after waiting on hold for hours.... and they claim they have no phone number to call them back. Some of the worst customer service ever.
Verizon subs out customer service. One guy called recently & claimed they were from the Eagle River store but could not help me with the issues I had. He tried to get me to upgrade to a new phone so they could manipulate me into another 3 year contract.
Customer service is horrific with Verizon whether you go to a store or call in, in my experience. My friends who had Verizon cancelled and I will be following suit as soon as I can. The phone reps changed my plan without my authorization then deducted hundreds of dollars for services from my bank account. I had a hard time getting that money back but when the store reps could not prove I authorized the charges, they were forced to return the funds.
I cancelled auto pay and have been paying with a check. I pay the bill in full each month. I received a scamming email stating I owed a penny and I could pay using my bank account. I called and spoke to Sheila with a heavy accent... she said she would credit the penny. We shall see. I believe it is another attempt to get my banking information.
Verizon wants you to give them access to your bank account and lie about giving you savings if you do..... then the scamming phone reps will change your plan without your permission, offer you deals they refuse to put in writing claiming "you are going to love me with this plan" ( 3 of the phone reps used that script).
Stay far away from Verizon. read more
