I thought that we could do a lot of the things that a wedding planner could do and save some money but at the same time we had so many things to worry about it would be less stressful for us at the wedding to have a wedding planner who we could rely on to make sure everything went smoothly. After everything has been said and done, I could not be happier that we decided to get one and that we decided to work with Rachel at Glass slipper. What I found most helpful was being able to check in with someone who actually knew what to expect. Neither of us had been married before so you can read all the books you want, sometimes you just need a little life experience to really guide some of the decisions your need to make and will likely never have to make again. Being able to talk to and email Rachel made this a little easier for us, went things were quoted and if it sounds a reasonable rate or when something went awry we were able to check in with someone who knew what you could do or alternatives. I think inevitably thing will go wrong the day of your wedding. I think things will go wrong in various levels of impact the week leading up to your wedding, from last minute sick relatives, to things that went missing, to things that weren't thought of. There was managing venders and any mishaps regarding them and working with everyone in the venue. This is where I really appreciated hiring Rachel. I felt like she really did everything she could to lessen the impact of those things we had the ability to control and really help us enjoy our day to the fullest without having to worry about the small stuff.
