I'm from the Bay Area in CA so granted, my standards are pretty high. The boba had a terrible texture too so I wonder if I just had a bad batch. They didn't over sweeten the drink which I appreciated as that often happens, and even had me try it before they finished... but that didn't really save the drink. This place was legit, like Taiwan legit. Most American boba places douse their boba in sugary syrup, add a crap top of more sugar to each drink, and use presweetened mixes, not Tea Cloud. I ordered a Taro boba tea and asked for no extra sugar and it was on point seriously tasted fresh and light with a robust taro flavor. After traveling all over the US and Asia this is one of the only places in the US I've been able to get something that neutral in sweetness. I will so though I'm not a fan of the lack of seating or the lack of a restroom. Let's be real you have to stay hydrated here in Denver the dry air is no joke, and that means I also need to have access to a restroom after I drink a ton. The irony of serving diuretics and not having a restroom for the public should classify under cruel and unusual punishment. read more

I'm originally from NoVA/DC and we have a lot of great boba places around so my expectations were high. The store is very cute and well decorated, although there is a lack of seating besides a few pillows along the window sill. Much like what other yelpers had mentioned, the boba is way too hard. I want to be able to drink my tea, not chew it. I think it needs to be steeped in syrup a little longer, if they even do that, because it was lacking any type of sweetness. I got the lavender milk tea and it was OK, wasn't impressed and definitely have had better. I like that the menu is extensive, but there are some very crucial bubble tea standards that they need to work out. A little on the expensive side, you should be able to get good boba for under $4. read more

I've eaten at tea cloud a few times and was pretty pleased. Until last week when a caterpillar was crawling around in my bowl. Only to be found after I'd eaten most of my food. This ain't your regular boba shop! My friend and I walked in last week and we were looking to get some tea. We didn't expect much at first but the owner blew us out of the water! He took time to explain each type of tea on the menu to us, gave us a sample of the tea we wanted and gave us suggestions as to what kind of flavor ( mango,peach,vanilla or strawberry etc) would go with the type of tea we picked. I was walking to Walgreens on this beautiful day and found myself thinking "Man, I wish I had a cold, fruity beverage right now", when I looked up and literally right in front of me was Tea Cloud. Now I am not a well-versed tea enthusiast, nor am I an any-beverage-but-water enthusiast (I'm a foodie, so I save my calories to grub out), but the staff at Tea Cloud made great use of my unsure "I want something cold and sweet" and hooked me up with a Boba Smoothie! They helped me pick flavors, and even went so far as to make sure I used the correct straw so that the boba could come through. Having never had boba I didn't realize I disliked it until today, but that's my personal preference and has nothing to do with this shop. The flavors of the strawberry and vanilla in the cold drink were exactly what I needed and really perked up my walk! The shop itself is ultra-charming. I am a drinker of hot tea occasionally, but have never really expanded my horizons past heating water up in the coffee pot and sticking a grocery store teabag into it. I thought, perhaps, this might be my time to learn but it seemed the only tea sets were cast iron and a bit too pricey for just an exploratory drinker as myself. Once I am equipped with a tea pot and understand how to use it I would love to come in here and get schooled on the different types of tea, and I'm positive this welcoming staff would be more than happy to help me out! I came in here with my friends, and I've never been so happy with a business owner. I firstly thought he was an employee bc he was so young. But he gave us a discount on our boba/poke, let my group have a bag of free chips and was just so nice about everything. Even though he seemed overwhelmed with all of our orders and the next group, I got my boba on time and he even gave us left over salmon/spicy tuna before closing up shop. Finally a great bubble tea place!! My only complaint is that is a drive for me (I'm from boulder) and parking in Denver is terrible. I came here yesterday with one of my roommates because we were craving boba. The shop was very homey and cute. They were selling little tea sets and accessories. I ordered the jade oolong iced milk tea regular sweetness with boba. They used loose leaf teas to make my drink so the wait of 5-10 minutes was fine. When I got my tea and tried it, it was very watered down. It was like there was very light sweetness. The boba wasn't bad though, it was slightly sweet and chewy. So I went and got the royal milk tea boba drink and it was so disappointing. What a waste of $5. I literally threw 2/3 of it away. The milk tea tasted almost like chocolate milk? We got a royal milk tea boba and a piña colada boba. Both delicious and didn't kill us with sweetener like most places. Boba was cooked well -- chewy with just a touch of sweetness. We wanted another one pretty much assign as we left. Place is super clean and cute and the owner (I'm guessing he's he owner) was so nice. I'm pretty much a boba connoisseur and get it at many different places around town whenever I travel. I've also had "authentic" boba from Taiwan so I use that as the bar to measure anything I get in the states. That said, this isn't the best boba in the U.S. (New York and LA is where it's at) but so far this is the best boba in Denver! read more

The owner really knows his tea and had the best selection. Yes, this place OFFERS Boboa, but Tea Cloud has AWESOME real tea. I don't think I have ever tried to put any sweetener in any of the many many drinks I have got there. I must say this place is a life saver during the semester when I need some energy but dont want to throw my diet or get anything unnatural, he gives the best recommendations and very honest. I feel wishy-washy about Tea Cloud. The interior was very modern and cool looking with a nice vibe, and the employees felt pretty happy. However, the boba left me dissatisfied; the balls were much harder than they are supposed to be, which I think means it was undercooked (I could be wrong). There was also significantly more ice than I am used to, which, again, could just be my personal tastes shining through. The space is a bit of a tight fit, but very aesthetic/clean atmosphere (especially within the city) & friendly service. When I first tried this store, the option of having warm boba drinks won me over. Yes. Finally. Most boba places I've found in CO are of the cold, summer variety. Well you know what? I was desperately looking for boba on one of those +100 degree days and stumbled into Tea Cloud. There's a large flavor selection which is always a good place to start! I think the service was fast and the employees were especially friendly and enjoying their time. The ONLY reason I rated this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the flavor of the passion fruit and other fruits in our smoothies wasn't very strong. My fiancée found this boba place which claims to be authentic Taiwanese milk tea. After returning from San Francisco, I've been on the lookout for a boba place that has authentic taiwanese milk tea. We decided to try this place after an early dinner while being in downtown. Since it is downtown and near 16th street mall, parking is fairly limited. It's a small shop but they only serve a variety of tea drinks so the space doesn't have to be that big. The menu is pretty varied, but I came in craving taro milk tea as the one in San Francisco was bomb and I wanted to compare. I ordered the large iced taro milk tea with extra sweetness and boba balls. First sip, I was a tad bit disappointed because the boba balls were not as soft as they should be and the extra sweetness wasn't there. It was still a good milk tea, but it wasn't as good as the one I had in San Francisco. Boo, but I'm sure I'll be back the next time I'm near 16th street mall. read more

I ended up going with the Rose Black Iced Tea latte w/ boba. After looking at other reviews, I realize I could've had it blended, but that's ok.
