He was so informative, patient, honest, and truly cared about making sure we understood every step of the process. You can tell he genuinely takes pride in what he does. We had 5 estimates and so glad we went with JJ! We have 3 cars and only way to the front door was walking up the driveway- we needed a pathway to the door. He took our idea of simple, clean and functional and turned it into reality! The entire project was scheduled quickly, and I honestly could not believe they completed everything in just 3 days! WORST LANDSCAPING SERVICE EVER…read more Today, these horrible "landscapers" broke yet ANOTHER of my lawn ornaments/home decorations while they were cleaning up their mess from a tree trimming this morning (and for the record they did a very sloppy job of "cleaning up" - there are still flowers and fronds all over my porch). This one was a squirrel in my front window. Why were they aiming a BLOWER at my WINDOW? And of course I had to discover it for myself as they did not bother to report this to me even though they knew I was home (I had to move our truck so they could trim the tree so they knew I was here). This is the sixth or seventh time this has happened. They have broken or destroyed Christmas and Halloween decorations, lawn ornaments (including a very expensive wind spinner that was a gift from my mother in law), and other home decor items, and even one of our front windows. On one occasion, they even tripped a breaker by using our exterior outlet to power a portable microwave and did not notify us that they had done so, which resulted in our chest freezer losing power. By the time we discovered this, we had lost over $250 worth of frozen meat and food. I have complained to the company many times and the woman who answers the phone at Odyssey is very rude and abusive (she has actually insulted me on more than one occasion) when I have actually gotten through to her. Now when I call she never answers the phone and does not return my calls. This is completely unacceptable. I have tried to repair the squirrel statue (they left the pieces on the ground) but apparently some of the pieces were thrown out so it is not repairable. At this point I do not expect to be reimbursed for our collective losses, or even receive an apology, but I am so frustrated and tired of this. This company is poorly managed, and many of their employees are not well trained (if at all), are completely unprofessional, and many of them do not even speak English so it is impossible to communicate with them. The company needs to be held accountable for their poor practices, sloppy service, and careless employees.

Alec said this does happen from time to time and to call him and, if it's within the warranty timeframe, he would replace them free of charge. However he will NOT return our many calls. I was able to get him on the phone ONE time and explained what happened and he said he would replace them for free but we'd have to buy the plants, which had he responded to our many calls would have been free as they died before the warranty expired. We agreed to pay for the plants and he said he would call us back to schedule the service. He did not and he is again ignoring and will not return our calls. There are many other much better options available. Spend your money with them.

I paid over $3000 for gravel in the rear yard, and water lines. This price also included an upgrade from the normal front yard landscaping: river rock, trees, assorted vegetation and a dry river bed in the front yard. I moved into my Mesquite home in April 2022. A few months later, we had a wind storm that snapped my tree in half. I assumed that the tree was simply my loss until my next door neighbor advised me that Alec had told him the tree could be replaced and was under warranty. I called and I texted Alec many, many times and he never responded. It was very frustrating and like so many other vendors in Mesquite, it felt like a 'churn and burn' situation. Even a single response that "the tree was not under warranty" or "I am too busy to contact you currently, but will be in contact shortly", would have been better than the silence I received. My neighbor's tree was also damaged and died. Alec does good work but don't expect him to respond if you need something remediated.
