I have been driving for a while and have a decent driving record. My policy renewal had my insurance go up by $400 a year. Insane! I worked with a representative from TD Insurance. Apparently, you need to tell the company that you have snow tires every year. Otherwise, it's one reason why my insurance rate had shot up. I wanted something better. I deserved a better rate. I did an estimate online with My Insurance Broker (MIB). Tommy Liew from MIB headquarters in Thornhill contacted me. He was great. It was my first time working with a broker. He managed to get me a great car insurance rate with CAA. I am saving $800 a year and paying what I used to on car insurance roughly twenty years ago. Wow! It was a smooth transition cancelling my policy with TD Insurance when it was up and having CAA take over this month. I recently changed banks and had to provide a voided cheque for my new chequing account. Tommy made the change automatically. He didn't confirm that he did it, but I'm guessing that things got busy when I made this request before Thanksgiving that he forgot. I am pleased with MIB so far.
