Went there recently for another appointment and they are still making mistakes. I mentioned that I wanted to renew some investments and decided to break the investments so that I wouldn't lock in the same rate/terms for the duration of the investments. I checked my balance before showing up to the branch and mentioned I wanted to divide it. The person responsible for my account mentioned that I had an extra $1,000.00. This amount had matured but because the instructions on the investment were "Contact customer" and I didn't contact them after receiving their mail that my investment matured. They basically matured the investment but kept it in limbo where it wouldn't earn any interest.
I made my investment choices and the person responsible for my account misunderstood what I wanted to do. She split up the amount into the denominations that I wanted for the investment but instead of having 6 different type investments with the same amount of money, she created 6 investments of the same denomination but each 3 were the exact same terms & rate. It was ridiculous as to why she would do this or why I would have asked for this since her doing this would amount to me having 2 different investments of a much higher denomination instead of 6 different investments with a much lower denomination per investment. It was also in an RSP account so it wasn't like I would be able to cash out the investment earlier than the maturity dates where at least I can see someone doing this crazy type of investment. The type of investments that I was purchasing was not cashable prior to maturity so what she did made absolutely no sense at all. In any event, I was in a rush to leave as I had another appointment to make so I quickly signed it even though it wasn't exactly what I wanted since the amount wasn't a lot and in the grand scheme of things, the interest amount would probably be at most maybe $20 in 5 years for the entire amount of my investment (and not each separate investment denomination).
At the same time, I made a change to one of my pre-authorized monthly transfers which was done without any issues/problems.
I did notice that this branch now has free WiFi which was good. I didn't have to wait too long to be seen at my appointment time and the free WiFi gave me the chance to quickly look at my balances on my smartphone.
I rate this visit 3.5 stars which I've rounded up to 4 stars. This lowers my last visit (where I gave them 5 stars) but is above the 3 stars that I gave them for my first review. read more
