If I could give this bank a minus 50 I would. The deposit of a check has an 8 day hold on it which is ridiculous even though they say six. Their online banking is absolutely horrible and makes no sense and is totally out of whack. You cannot download your transactions into Excel and have to use .csv and when you do, not all of the transactions are there and lots are missing. Their door in Orange, NJ says open Sundays 11 - 2 but the OTHER does says closed on Sundays.....well which is? Some clarification would be appreciated. You can't get a card on site like a real bank like PNC an have to wait in the mail to get a stupid debit card; Onto the Montclair Branch 233 Bloomfield, 2 things to say: "FIRE LOURDES ALEMAN ASAP ASAP ASAP ASAP ASAP & revamp the entire place perhaps with a real bank like Chase or PNC. This bank sucks all around in every which way from providing inaccurate misinformation to Lourdes talks to you like you're 10 year old child. read more

I moved to Montclair, and opened my checking account with the bank 5 years ago my account was hacked ,td bank deemed it my fault which it wasn't they closed my account and told me never to come to any td location they are horrible as a neighbor of mine had the same problem with money being taken from the account. If you have a choice, stay away from TD, Montclair Branch. Not only are they rarely prepared for the traffic which can certainly be predicted after years of operating at the location, but there is an air of antagonism that makes the customer feel as if they are inconveniencing the staff by banking there. The lack of preparedness and antagonistic approach to business can be traced right to branch manager Susan desanto. I was berated and rudely dismissed (20 year customer with mortgages, lines of credit , and multiple deposit accounts) for daring to ask for a 2nd roll of quarters. I suggested they have a peek at the nature of our relationship to ascertain whether I was worthy of this tiny accommodation and that was even too much trouble. On the basis of this interaction, I will be working diligently to find a new home for my business. Hopefully in the next few days my family and I can close our accounts and relieve this Branch of the burden. UPDATE: just came out of TD Bloomfield where I (sheepishly after my last experience) asked for a roll of quarters. The teller asked, "Just one?" Hilarious considering how utterly impossible it was for Montclair Branch to comply with my request. Kudos to Bloomfield. I got my two rolls of quarters and a friendly smile. read more

This bank is terrible. They expect my mother , a senior, to wait out in the parking lot at drive through with no car behind 15 cars to do her banking. She stood there for 20 minutes in the rain. If you're going to have Sunday hours, you better have more than two employees opening. There was one consultant at a desk and one teller for a line of 10 customers deep right at 11 AM and 4 cars backed up in the drive thru. Worst bank they just have a bunch of tellers sitting around. No one greets you and so many people just sit around. There's always only 4 people working with several people waiting to be serviced. Customer service is poor would not recommend this branch to anyone. read more

Great guys! They have great spirit and are very open minded to networking ideas! I worked with El Zarif and Silvana. I was able to get an account open in less than 25 minutes. I recommend getting the TD Debit Card advanced service so you can have access to emergency funds when you need them. It's $35 each time you access emergency funds, but it helps. I've had it - take down the sign already - you are not the most convenient bank. In fact everytime i try to do a transaction here i have another instance of how they seem to work to make things as inconvenient as possible. Like just now i went to the drive thru and asked for 4 rolls of quaters and they ask if i have an acct, and my word is not good enough they have to have my card. And then they don't even have quarters by the drive thru teller, she has to walk around to the front of the bank - and when i say never mind she doesn't get it and instead of giving me my cash back starts to give excuses. This is convenient? In fact i have had a discussion with phone customer service and asked how do they justify claiming to be the most convenient. I was told it is because they have 24/7 real people to take you calls. Like as though all i want from a bank is to talk to someone to give me excuses why they can't or won't provide any given service i am asking for, like converting several hundred dollars in 20's from their ATM to larger bills. Multiple times i have been told they dont have any more large bills. This is a bank? read more

If "0" stars could be given, that's exactly what this branch would get for their corrupt practices. Try asking for check images that, by the bank's own admission, is a free service, and this branch will tell you that it's at every branch's discretion whether to charge or not. Ask to speak with the branch manager, and Janet is never available. Ask to see written policy that allows a branch to charge, and they don't have it. Foul play is everywhere with this bank. Because of where this branch is located, I suspect that they intimidate customers into believing these bogus rules because they think their customers are too poor or uneducated to know better. I have since resorted to going to the Verona branch, where the people greet you with a smile and eagerness to help you SAVE your money, not spend it on illegal fees. The TD Bank on Bloomfield Ave. in Montclair, NJ has provided me with the worst banking experience imaginable. While banking with this outfit, I experienced a rash of criminal transactions against my account by hackers. I was issued a new debit card on three separate occasions, as this was their method for thwarting the hacking activity. On each occasion that phony charges were drawn against my account, I was responsible for the funds in question until their "investigation" was conducted and concluded. I was treated with the attitude that I was at fault, or somehow involved in this criminal activity. After the 3rd breach of the security of my debit card, I closed my account. Not once was I given a valid explanation as to why they could not secure my account or their network. Their demeanor was that of lifeless robotic figurines, void of personalities or souls. This is the worse branch I 've ever visited under the TD brand....the manager is useless and the tellers are equally just dumb. They give you attitude and its just plain insulting they call themselves bankers...I went in with proof of my new address to order check books and two week later, the check book showed up at my old address and somehow they failed to tell me it takes 3 business days for an address change to change in the system. Usually come to this particular branch to cash my check. So recently I decided to open an account. I signed my name on the clip board & there were two people who came after me to see one of the costumer representatives as well. As I waited I took a phone call but never moved from my spot. The Branch manger (I'm just going to assume she's the branch manger judging by the office she came out of) came towards the clip board and told the older man that he was next, ask the young lady what did she need help with & ask me what was my reason for standing there.( in a rude tone of voice) I told her I need help opening an account she then proceeded to say "well you were standing over there so i didn't think you needed anything" I told her my name was next on the list so i didn't need to stand on top of everyone esp being that i was on the phone (but i was well aware of my surroundings and was paying attention) she then went to one of her CSR's and whispered something to her which I'm sure was about me. Then came back and said you'll be seen in 10 min and took the young lady who was signed in after me into her office. The gentleman who did help me was very nice & helpful and I appreciated his customer support. But as for that "Branch manger" she was very rude & a bit condescending. Commerce Bank used to be AMAZING but after it was bought out by TD Bank, the service has been going downhill fast. I travel extensively and have consistently run into issues when trying to use my debit card abroad. I would contact the branch + call the 1-800 number and still not be able to use my card. Now, I'm trying to purchase something from Europe and am continually having my card denied even after advising them beforehand. Choose another bank. read more

The worst customer service out of any branch I've been to! Slow, impolite, and all around unhelpful.

This is the worst TD I have been to. When I pressed the button to ask for my balance she responded rudely , and I had to ask twice. The young girl at the drive thru teller did not give my card back , she said it was on an envelope and I had to let her know there was no envelope because I didn't make a withdrawal , it took her and two other tellers about 10 mins to try and look for my card. I was very frustrated that now I have to go inside for them to cancel the card and reissue another card . Do inconvenient , oh and the whole time the girl was grinning and never apologized. While I was in the bank with the manager the young girl , I think her name was Monica or Monique maybe, anyway she says she found the card on the floor , ummmm really. They are so incompetent at this location . The manager apologized. I had to ask how long I have to wait got a new card to be sent , that should of been expedited for the inconvenience.
