And I use a sonicare and see a dentist every 6 months. I was shaken. It also took 40 minutes to have my X-rays done since I was a guinea pig for a dental assistant trainee who zapped me an estimated 20+ times and said it's normal for X-rays to be painful. It was awful. The dentist recommended 2 small fillings between two of my back teeth, even though only one cavity was visible and previous dentists had been keeping an eye on it. I had the filling appointment today and when I went back it was a different dentist and he said I was scheduled for 2 fillings, not on adjacent teeth. I told him that wasn't what I was expecting and he looked over my xrays and agreed there was a mistake. I ended up getting 1 filling. The dentist was skilled and professional but I will not be back to this office. Instruments that my dentist requested during my procedure were not available and a tool was not working properly but they had to make due with it. I felt like I was at a bottom of the barrel dentist office. I guess this is what I should expect from a national chain? Last but not least I was surprised by the estimated fees other than my copay. Aspen dentist is in my insurance ppo network and fillings are covered 100%. That is why I chose this office. Last week I requested the dental office submit a service estimate to my insurer and my insurer provided an estimate that stated I would only owe the deductible. Aspen dental still coerced me into signing paperwork stating I would pay the additional fees if my insurance didn't cover the charges. This was done before I saw the dentist and my procedure changed. I will have to call my insurance company tomorrow to see if they still billed for 2 fillings because this office is a shit show.

I may not need it, but if it is covered 100%, why not, use every benefit that we are paying for. So, weeks later, I received a bill about $47 for that service. Then, of course I had to call their office and made an argument of what my hygienist said. The dental staff said, and, I was told that my Blue Cross dental insurance made a mistake. From there, I knew they were already lying. For the sake of verifying, I called my dental insurance and asked about the coverage. I was told that the coverage for fluoride is only up to 19 y.o. and that guideline has been set since the beginning, decades ago. So, they knew then that it was not covered. They think that maybe all patients are ok with that. For me, this is one of those revenue-generating schemes, so BEWARE!!! Addendum: 7/2/25 So, they responded that my dental insurance states that coverage is age 4 and up, so again, I just called my dental insurance again to verify what this dental office states. I verified with my dental insurance that it was clearly stated that age is UP TO 19 y.o. This dental office knew then it was not covered, but told me it was. We supposed to make an informed decision by what they say. This dental office states that they are transparent. TRANSPARENCY is best shown in actions, not in words, JUST NEED SOME ACCOUNTABILITY.

I had never had a good experience with a dentist in my life (maybe because I have a tiny child mouth and I'm always being yelled at to "open wider"...) so, I almost never went to the same one more than a couple times. I was hesitant to start over at another place, but I am so glad I did... On walking in, you can tell everyone loves working there and that they are a family. Dr Greg and Dr Joanne (married couple practice, how nice?) are so sweet they provide their own figurative job security; plus they have gadgets for checking your teeth that I had never heard of (including this thingy you can rest your teeth on that holds my tiny child mouth open for fillings, etc.) and the whole staff is excellent at what they do. In addition to regular cleanings, I had Six-Month-Smiles (quick braces thingies) to re-straighten my teeth before my wedding, so I got to spend more time there than the average patient which allowed me more time to observe the interactions between the hygienists, assistants, techs, doctors, and other patients. Staff is punctual, friendly, skilled, professional, and knowledgeable. Juanita is very personable and sweet. My only real complaint would be that they try to push a lot of extra stuff on you. Juanita Bahroos's husband is also a dentist and they push his services on you during your whole appointment every time. Stuff like whitening, braces, veneers, and extra services to scan for cancer are offered repeatedly. These "extra services" aren't covered by insurance and only claim to be able to detect oral cancer slightly sooner. And there seems to be a new option every 6 months.

What a horrible bedside manner. I get out to the front and they tell me that she said that I need two caps $450 apiece out of my pocket. I said all I want is my fillings replaced. He was a great dentist. He did really good work and he never tried to get you to pay for anything you didn't need to have. He also had a great bedside manner, very friendly, very smiley which made you feel comfortable. At this point, I don't recommend Dupuis office anymore after my last experience. I had another experience a couple years back a male dentist came in and wanted me to have my wisdom teeth removed and I said why and he said well because you know they're crowding your mouth or whatever now at that point I was in my 50s every dentist I've ever been to in my life said that I had the smallest wisdom teeth they've ever seen they absolutely we're not crowding my mouth.
