Dr.Alex found a massive "baseball" sized cavity in my molar that the previous person had apparently ignored!! This cavity was massive, and was borderline needing a root canal. Alex used an technology called silver diamine (? I think) and it stopped the cavity in its tracks! I've now since moved again, but make the 1.5hr drive JUST to see Dr.Alex. Dr. Lacour has totally changed my mind about the dentist with his gentleness and knowledge about dentistry. I went in for a filling and the hygienist and Dr. Lacour recommended that I try to use their new laser tooth decay removal technology that would eliminate the need to get a numbing shot. They informed me that all I would feel is some cold sensations while using the laser during my filling. I honestly did not feel anything at all that they described and did not have any discomfort whatsoever. This has changed my mind entirely about going to the dentist! I left my appointment and was not numb for the hours ahead and it was truly such a pleasant experience! If you are in need of a dentist in the Walton Co. area check this practice out! A few days later i got a call from Sarah that my device was here and to make an appt for proper fit. I made the appt with a very incompetent office person named Megan. She called me back and told me i couldn't make an appt and to cancel my appt bc the provider who spoke to me at my cleaning was on vacation for 2 wks and I couldn't be seen by their other dentist? She thensaid it was bc the dentist i saw diagnosed me. I challenged her saying I didn't even speak to that dentist and she didn't even so much as read my paperwork to see I had TMJ or ask me a thing about it. She then told me me they couldn't find my mouth guard. How convenient!! SHE TRIED TO GET ME TO GET A PRESCRIPTION FOR PAIN WHEN I DIDN'T EVEN COMPLAIN OF THAT OR ASK FOR IT!! IS THIS A NARCOTICS PILL MILL?? I had to ask her tofollow up with Sarah and find out where my device had disappeared to. She told me this bc she didn't want to schedule me and was using a tactic to postpone my appt until the other provider was back even though I could be seen by DR DENA the next business day but instead she told me I could not have that appt and needed to see Dr Patel and cancelled that appt. I was told she would call me back after speaking to the person who called and said the device was there and she never called back. 3 days later I called, spoke to someone else who took a full 24 hours to inquire and ultimately said my device WAS there. She said I could pick it up and then make a f/u appt with the one dentist when she was back in town. The front office person was rude to me when I picked it up. I could tell they notated my account as a problem patient when they are the ones with the problems. The dentist was not pleasant when I came for f/u. She stated she didn't know I was getting this done?? Thats bc she never even looked at my chart and obviously the medical assistant didn't let her know. It is not my job to inform her after the fact. She spoke to me as little as necessary to adjust the mouthguard while I was there. Didn't bother then to ask me ANYTHING about my TMJ history or what my symptoms were currently. Gateway Dental continues to flag my google posts to have them deleted so I'm here and anywhere else…read moreI can post. On 1/2/26 the visit for my husband and I was nothing short of unprofessional by Ms. D at the front desk. We did not realize my husband's insurance had changed to Anthem from UHC at the time he had already had the fillings. Ms. D went back and forth with me about she needed the member ID number and the provider number. At the time, she was not going to allow my husband to get his cleaning. I asked her if she would allow him to go back, while I get with the insurance company to get the information. AT first she didn't. My husband got upset and walked out. I was trying to tell her whatever the cost would be it would be paid, just let him go back while he is off from work now to get the services. I provided her with a telephone number I was given verbally over the phone with Anthem. Ms. D calls the number and couldn't reach anyone. She proceeds to say "the policy is we don't call more than two times". I told her don't call anymore, I am chatting with the company and will get her the information. I provided her with the ID number. She insist I give her a provider number to call. As we all know, she could have just went to check online just as another provider did over the phone today with the member number and his date of birth to see he was active. She didn't want to do it. She didn't like that I spoke up for myself and my husband to her, and didn't mind correcting her when she was wrong. I ended up chatting with an Anthem person, and they provided me with the Provider Number and the Member ID. Gave to her, and which she still did NOT contact. Let's guess. the policy. Yeah ok. She first charged $175, then she charged another $625.00 once someone showed her she didn't charge the correct amount. I provided her with my card to charge it. I asked her okay, so when you all file the claim will yall reimbursement me. She told me I needed to get reimbursed by the insurance company. As I was about to leave, Anthem rep told me once the claim is filed, they will send payment directly to the provider and I would have to coordinate reimbursement from provider. I went back inside and read her what Anthem rep stated. Ms. D then says well yeah that's how it would work. She says they have to let the outsourced person know to reimburse. I called back to speak with an office manager. Ms. D says they don't have an office manager. I asked for the owner to give me a call. Ms D replied "she will give you a call". I said well earlier you told me a he. In addition, Ms. D blatantly refused to provide the discounted rate like she added on the $10,000.00 original rate of a future treatment plan. I asked her about the discount being added on today's visit since it was self pay and she goes "since things went the way it did (or something similar to that)....." then mumbled something else. Ms. D is very unprofessional, condescending, and vindictive. I have taken the extra step in researching Dr. Marlon Brown's telephone number, and left a message. As of today, no phone call so we will not be going back there. It is apparent by other YELP reviews, the front desk/office staff is very unprofessional and I'm Not the only one who has such negative encounters with Ms. D. There needs to be an office manager who is not related to or personally know Ms. D. I am requesting my husband's claim be filed, and make sure yall office reimburse me for whatever the insurance doesn't pay. I have already asked Athem the covered percentage for the codes D4910 (80%), D0120 (100%), D3120 (80%), D2392 (80%), and D2330 (80%). I am requesting refund of all monies minus what the "contracted" rate no later than February 1, 2025 or I will be filing a grievance with the insurance company.
