Rental equpiment from Taylor is sometimes in poor shape. Be carful with what you rent - make sure it works as expected before your event. Recommendation - pay a little more (especially for a party) - from other vendors who stand by their equipment. read more

Rented a power rake. Reservation, pickup and return was smooth. Machine itself served its purpose. Employees there were great.

Rented a hedge trimmer with extension for a whole day - everything was ready and the trimmer worked great. I only used it 1/2 day. I didn't look at the receipt but when I checked my credit card bill - I was issued a partial refund without my requesting it. Took a day off of work to powerwash. I reserved a powerwasher from Taylor Rental. I show up and the reserved powerwasher had a flat tire. He said the wheel might fall off. It was the only one they had left and I couldn't deny it because I took the day off the power wash. The clerk told me they would do the right thing and take 25% or so off the bill. Not a big deal on the $20 but I would expect them to come through on it, considering the wheel was not only flat but it kept falling off when I rolled the machine. When I followed up with owner, asking for the credit, the obnoxious moron tells me, "no thanks". I expect for a machine that I reserved, that the wheel wouldn't fall off and be completely flat, nor did I expect such blatant disrespect from the owner when I asked for him to do make right but a not so fun experience trying to reattach a wheel on his piece of garbage, 15 year old machine. Could have at least offered me a discount next time, or even apologized, or something, but no, outright rude, KEITH. I guess the same experience as others have written. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT GIVE THIS PERSON BUSINESS. No surprise to me that half the reviews are awful. read more

Visited this store several times over the years with good results. Equipment was available and the training on the use was adequate. Went in today and was surprised that I was offered little help with a project that required a piece of available equipment. One guy seemed to be interested, but the other could care less and seemed preoccupied with something else. Maybe he was having a bad day. I didn't rent the equipment. read more

We rented a full line of chairs, cutlery, china, tables, glassware, etc, from Taylor Rental for the event. The items were delivered but 16 of the 25 chairs (Chiavara Gold Ballroom) were unusable. I didn't have time to document each unusable chair but I took several photos of some of the damaged Taylor Rental chairs to show the owner at a later date. (He was not interested to see them) Several were wobbly, many had missing felt cushions, and several had exposed nails hammered into the feet of the chairs to keep the protective pads on the chairs. In my opinion, these chairs should not have left the storage warehouse. I discovered this the morning of the party, and immediately contacted Taylor Rental. Within two hours or so, they did come and deliver 16 satisfactory replacement chairs before the event. The day the rental supplies were picked up, I contacted Dave, who I was informed was the owner of this Taylor Rental. He returned my call the next day and I told him I thought their performance, regarding the chairs, was subpar. I felt a partial refund for the chair portion of the $597.04 order was fair. I mentioned that quality control had failed in a big way and those chairs should never have left the warehouse. This caused us undue stress the day of the party to learn the chairs were unusable. We had to remove all the tie on cushions from each chair. We also sustained several scratches on our newly refinished hardwood floors (I believe from some of the chairs with exposed metal on the feet of the chairs). The owner said he would provide no refund and became nasty and he actually hung up on me. I was very surprised at this behavior and I thought it should be noted how Dave the owner of this Taylor Rental handled post-event customer service for this particular event. Thank you. I will not be renting from this Taylor Rental location again. read more

I rented a 12" chipper from Taylor Rental in Ridgewood. The blade on the chipper was very dull. I also dropped off the machine with a full tank of fuel but was denied my $100 deposit refund. I did not receive a phone call and had to call to find out. Extremely unprofessional and sad to see from a local business. I would not recommend Taylor Rental to anyone. read more

These guys are a great asset for someone like me who doesn't want to go out and buy a machine. Spring yard cleanup is huge and renting things from them makes economical sense. Sure you can do things by hand the old way, but that takes away from beer time. I ran into an issue where my local center had something I reserved, they told me the guy that rented it before me had some issues with it. They called the Ridgewood store who put a machine aside for me so I could pick it up. Little bit further of a drive, but they got the job done, and that's all that matters. The extra 10 minutes of driving around didn't really make me irate cause they stood by their reservation. read more

Rented a large bbq grill for July 4th BBQ. Our weber was just too small for 80 people. Grill delivered the day before with the wrong legs--making it unusable. After several phone calls they figured out that another person must also have the wrong legs and there was nothing they could do. Their only advice was to find someplace open and go buy one. This was the OWNER. When I expressed surprise at his nonchalance about leaving us in this kind of situation, he said I should be impressed that he returned my call on a holiday weekend. THEY ARE THIEVES! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. I rented tables and chairs for Christmas and went to pick it up on Christmas Eve and they were CLOSED. No one notified me and told me that they were going to have shorter hours on Christmas Eve, so we had to buy tables and chairs and when I spoke to the manager,Keith, he told me his general policy is to call people and I told them that no one called me and he still refused to refund me. Despite the fact that I told him we were there to pick it up, he classified it as a "no show". DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. They have a complete disregard for customer service and are crooks. read more
