Hello, I'm a former 7th grader (now going into 8th grade soon) and I want to address some things that I've experienced. I don't wanna sound mean or be a Negative Nancy, but I'm just leaving some constructive criticism. Be warned, this review isn't for the faint of heart and It's serious. First of all, let's talk about the teachers. If you're an incoming 7th grader, just wish you don't get Mrs. Fiske, She's very strict and picks out popsicle sticks with students names on them if people don't answer her question. I thought we left the popsicle sticks in elementary? Anyways, here are some of the best teachers I recommend that you wish you could get for your schedule, Mr. Hansen is a very kind, understanding, and has comical humor for a substitute teacher for PE. Ms. Drutz is also kind and is a science teacher, but she got mad at me for something harmless. Second of all, let's talk about some of the things about this school that should be worked on. Taylor has a no phone rule now. "The expectation at Taylor is that all cell phones and smart devices are turned off and put away at 8:30 AM and can be turned back on at dismissal. Many students are very successful in meeting that expectation. Bullying in any form is not tolerated". Teachers are allowed to use their phones, and I see them use their phones, but students are not allowed to? and I still see students getting bullied even though "Bullying in any form is not tolerated"? that's pretty hypocritical, smh. The teachers, principals, and vice principals don't do anything about the bullying. They're blind as bats when it comes to bullying, but they have 20/20 vision and x-ray vision when they see a student on their phone. In essence, this school needs to do better and all they care about is phones. read more

My grandson attended Taylor for three years. All the time he was there he experienced bullying and was taunted in the classroom by other students with no staff intervention, until it became physical. There were multiple incidents of fighting over the years, but this last month he was jumped by a gang of students. While there may be a few caring teachers and staff; it isn't enough to negate the bullying and fights. Nor the lack of interest in a students well being. A few weeks ago he was harassed by a teacher. She pulled him out of class (she's not even his teacher) on two different occasions because she heard a rumor and wanted to ask him about it. During the discussions she actually made offensive, accusatory remarks to him. Her antagonism escalated when she decided to slander him in front of other students telling them to stay away from him because he was weird. As he walked away from her, she actually flipped him off with both hands. It was so hostile and abusive, another student reported it to staff and urged him to as well. Another observation is in learning and development. Following Covid; many children struggled when they got back to school and grades are low for some. Schools should focus on education and grades. There isn't any support or concern at all on grades. My grandson wasn't safe there; physically or emotionally and we struggled taking him there everyday and trusting them with his care. The only reason he wasn't pulled out was because it was the last month of school and we did not want it to impact his graduation. To date we are not aware of any actions taken regarding the teacher. read more

Let's just say look the other way. This school lacks accountability for kids being bullied and dont follow their parent handbook. Bullies are not held accountable for their actions and parents aren't being notified of their behavior therefore nothing ever gets fixed. My kid was bullied for two yrs and today at graduation cried because she was so happy to GONE! The once you least expect are doing the bullying - - because they feel entitled. read more

also, this school is bad at handling bullying. instead of handling bullying, they act like taking your phone out is the equivalent to taking out a WEAPON. teachers and other school staff literally get mad at you if you pull out your phone for one second. and no, im not done yet at ranting about this school JUST. YET. everyone trys to act cool and its embarrassing, it's like a popularity contest and the losers are considered the "unpopular" kids. unpopular kids usually get left out at brunch and lunch with no one to hang out with. this school should do better on including everyone. read more

Not the best school I see kids from there vaping and smoking :( The teachers are mostly ok but they have a few duds very here and there. I'd say one if there better teachers is Mr.Garrett but that might be it. The school's campus isn't very clean either, there was a little graffiti on the walls for a while and the bathrooms aren't very good in certain halls. The school lunch isn't anything to cough at though. The sports teams aren't bad but education's pretty good, most of the smarter kids go to extra lessons though. Taylor is a good middle school, but some things that i hate is that there are constantly fighting kids and kids getting beat up, a ton of bullying and sometimes teachers dont quite know how to handle the situation but like they try i just wish sme of the kids were nicer and it was easier to make friends. Was a student here from 1963-1965. Lived at 231 Taylor, so it was just a short walk to school. Have great memories of the place and teachers like Miss York, Miss MacDuff and Mrs. Nightingale -all very dedicated to their students. Even as a kid I was impressed with the Spanish architecture and the bell tower. Remember the sock hops we used to have, and all the pretty girls I dreamed about and sometimes worked up the courage to ask to dance. Hope students these days appreciate this place -sometimes it takes years to realize how good things actually were at the time. read more

My niece plays tee ball here on the weekends. The fields and are in pretty good shape and are well maintained. I didn't use the bathrooms so I can't give a toilet review lol. read more

I thought Taylor was a good school. Nice facilities, and mostly nice teachers. There was one exception to the nice facilities...that dark dungeon of lockers in the A-Hall. Ahaha, I'm glad I didn't have a locker in there. I didn't buy school food much, but what I had wasn't bad. Pizza sticks and ice cream cups with wooden spoons bring me back... Most of the teachers cared about us. Ms. Fiore (science) and Mrs. Seffens (math) were great, my favorites. Ms. Costantino (English) was cool too. Ms. Alvarado (math) was not so great...she didn't seem to like kids much. I don't know why she became a teacher. I asked her one time, but I don't remember what she said. Ms. Bald (math, computer science) was nice and her computer class was so easy. Mr. Enevoldson was a pretty bad teacher, but I think he left a couple years ago. And Mr. Ewing (science, core) had a bit of a creepy vibe...you know those people who are friendly and nice, but still seem a little off and creepy? I thought Mr. Milch (P.E.) was an asshole. Anyway, I felt like I got a good education. In my opinion, I had too much homework for a sixth grader though. There was a ton of drama in middle school, but I guess that's inevitable. All in all, I think Taylor was a good school and look back fondly on it. read more

The staff there and students are very nice and they have a great quality of education. The only negative was the cafeteria food: the spaghetti was a little watered down and the spicy sandwiches were too spicy it was discusting. Right now I'm a sixth grader there it is my second to the last day there. Now I'm going to explain how the substitute teacher in A-1 for mrs muldorf was the worst. She made really upset faces,she played favorites, she yell at the students she hates even if they didn't do anything,she makes us write notes on KTLR for nothing, she doesn't let us watch KTLR half the time,she wouldn't answer any questions, and brags about how her daughter,"nythia" is so more better behaved and smarter than us and she is in the 4th grade only and goes to an advanced school.(drumroll please!) and the worst teacher in the world is....Ms.Rao. I reccomend the office to never ever hire her again for a sub just to protect new incoming 6th graders.thats all I gotta say. I gave the school 5stars but I give Ms Rao 0stars. read more

Nice school... but, it would be nice if there was communication between parents and teachers. My son attends 6th grade here. Parent vue is hardly ever updated. When I have had questions regarding missing homework, I have emailed the teacher and never got a response. The students are allowed to play sports even though they are failing. The students are given a set of books for home and a set of books to keep at school. How is this teaching our children responsibility? It doesn't seem like the students are held accountable when needed. read more
