I moved here last year and this was the closest doctor to me. I finally get to see her and she spends two hours with my son and myself. I've been on one medication for 18 years and she wanted to change my prescription to a "slow release" version of my pill. I told her I was fine staying on my current medication and would alter how I take it, but she refused to budge. She sweetened the deal by giving me a discount card that would make it free for one year. Flash forward to two weeks of me trying to get it filled by two different pharmacists. Each one said that the card only applies to $250 of the $1000 it takes to fill the medication. AND my insurance company won't cover the new medicine. Every time I call to basically beg them to call in my previous prescription because 1. the card isn't working and 2. I'm running out of medication. I will have a seizure if I'm without my medication. So, I'm told that Dr. Taylor says "I need to get off of the Tripletal". That even though two pharmacies have told me the same thing, that the doctor's office will call them, figure out why the card isn't working, call the drug rep and together they will find me a solution. THE SOLUTION IS TO LISTEN TO ME AND CALL MY OLD MEDICATION INTO THE PHARMACY! I have never had a doctor push so hard for me to do something I'm not comfortable with. I wonder if they get some kind of kickback for pushing Oxtellar XR. I'm dangerously close to being out of medication and if that happens, I will sue this doctor. I decided the day I saw this doctor, that I was never going back. I already have another doctor lined up, but not in enough time to get a refill. I suggest no one ever go to a doctor that will not atleast listen to what you think is best for you. read more
