Did some research on tax prepares online. I was considering going to H&R Block or Liberty Tax. I had really bad experience with Jackson Hewitt last year so knew I wouldn't be going back to them. Got a bad vibe from the H&R office I went into, and wasn't sure about Liberty Tax and all their "specials". All I can say is go talk to those other prepares then go see Patrick at Tax Plus Financial. Patrick was very friendly. I showed up at his office first thing in the morning and he saw me right away. Again Patrick was very friendly and great with conversation and really made me feel at ease. After my experience last year using Jackson Hewitt, I was expecting the worst but I left the office feeling happy, good about his work, and very relieved. Cost wise, Patrick is very competitive. Talk to the others and get a ball park estimate of a basic return and per form cost, then go talk to Patrick. He makes it a no-brainer to have him do the return instead of the big franchise shops. Due to getting married, buying a house, stock sales, etc., we had a fair amount of questions. Patrick did an awesome job on my partner and I's taxes! We set up an appointment over the phone (we were SO thankful for the fact that he was available to answer his phone and schedule an appointment on a late Sunday afternoon, since no one else was!) and he came just a few days later at our convenience. Once here he set up his mobile office and got to work, he even let us know we were free to lounge about our apartment as he asked us all the questions necessary to maximize our return!
