Our flight was almost two hours late and even though their agreement is to only wait for an hour, the driver waited for us. We were picked up in a very nice Mercedes sprinter van. There were bottles of water for us and all of our luggage was placed in the back by the driver. On our return trip, we requested they come an hour before the time we had previously agreed to due to the delays at the airport. They did it without an issue. At promptly 7 AM they were waiting for us and brought us back to Schiphol without an issue. I couldn't recommend this service more for the price, communication, and hassle free ride to and from the airport.

There's a lot of construction going on, so what seemed like a relatively simple walk turned into a lot of winding around construction zones, but it wasn't too hard to figure out. We checked in online before our arrival and had requested an early check-in, even willing to pay the (pretty steep) fee. When we arrived we were told that early check-in would not be possible and that our accommodations wouldn't be ready for 3 more hours. Had it just been adults, that would have been fine, but a crying baby after a long day of travel and a lot of luggage made it quite tough to hear. But, we had no choice but to shuffle things around and get ready to start our exploring. They said they would try to get it done sooner and would call once it was ready, but we didn't even get a call until over 3 hours later. The apartment was nice though and they had a nice baby bed available as well as a high chair. There was plenty of room for our little one to explore and a kitchen to make mealtimes easier. The shower was a little weird, but we've also experienced weirder. The breakfast bag was nothing to write home about. They did apologize for the early check-in issues and offered a late check-out, but we had to depart early.

Excellent location and friendly staff!…read more On our first visit to Hamburg, we chose Eric Vokel for our stay. Overall, we had a great time, and the apartment ticked all the boxes for us. Located within 5 minutes walk from the rail station, this boutique apartment is in a prime location for sightseeing within the city. The closest UBahn station is within a few minutes' walk, and there are a variety of restaurants and bakeries within steps from the hotel. The hotel is an apartment style housing, where the reception office is open during regular business hours. If you book directly through its website, a small continental breakfast is included in your daily stay. There are no amenities, such as gym or saunas, within the building. As for the room, each apartment has a kitchen, washer/dryer, cooking supplies, and coffee maker. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment, and we found our unit very spacious and comfortable. Within our unit, we do not hear any street noise in the evening. However, the mattress felt hard and lopsided, which didn't provide the most comfortable rest. Our room rate was around $360 a night, which was very reasonable for a 2 bedroom apartment. Recommend if you are looking for good location and homestyle living!

Have you ever had the hankering for a karaoke sesh, but really needed to be getting home? Well,…read moreDisco Taxi can solve those 2 problems for you - *SIMULTANEOUSLY. This operation is by far the most entrepreneurial party I've been to in awhile. A big boomin' van of sound, bass, spinning lights, mics and a whole ass-load of fun. What more might one want? (A quiet journey home? You've called the wrong place, friend). The van seats 8. The driver beatboxes. The karaoke lyrics/videos are clearly pulled from the ether of pre-internet days. He can downshift, hold a mic, belt out a tune and pass you the song in one motion. It's downright insane in the best way possible and 3 songs in, we were already at the hotel -- wondering if we should just keep driving around so we could sing. *If you are in Amsterdam. **regular cab rates apply. Songs are free!

We took Über about a dozen times and found it to be an easier way to get around, instead of the light rail trams which parallel the channels. We were here with another couple and we mostly had Mercedes-Benz Rs The drivers were all very friendly and knowledgeable about their city. Most spoke English and some French or German. But it really wasn't necessary, since Über had already plotted the route. Our wait times were usually ten minutes or so. Everything was door to door and first class.

We did have to wander around quite a bit to find the bar that contained liquor, but we were persistent! Airport was clean and all employees we encountered were pleasant. We waited about an hour and a half in a very hot line to clear immigration. None of the self-service kiosks were open. When the Schengen line was totally clear, I hoped they would start taking people from our line; no such luck. The gentleman who helped us was nice, but it took way too long to get to him. It is very convenient that the train station is right there in the airport, though I wish the platform system was made a bit more clear no the kiosks when buying tickets. For those of us who don't have this type of transit in our home cities (Los Angeles), it made transportation tough. In fact, we got on the wrong train and what should have been a 15 minute ride from Schiphol to Centraal became an hour-long detour in the broiling heat.

This airport was probably the most mixed part of our recent trip…read more The airport itself is beautiful, modern, clean, and has great views from the platform outside of Aspire. That said, if you're connecting through Amsterdam after a long overnight flight, be prepared for a lot of walking. The airport is huge, and getting between gates can feel like a workout. Our biggest frustration was immigration. When we arrived, the electronic passport control kiosks were not operating, but it wasn't immediately clear what passengers were supposed to do. Everyone from our flight ended up being redirected into the manual passport control line, which created a bottleneck and added stress to an already tight connection. One interesting part of the trip was boarding directly from the tarmac rather than through a jet bridge. After being bused out to the aircraft, we climbed the stairs and boarded from the ground, which offered a completely different perspective of the airport operations. The funniest part was our connection. After walking what felt like miles through the terminal, we boarded a bus that drove us all over the tarmac and even got stuck in what I can only describe as tarmac traffic. When we finally arrived, our next aircraft was parked directly across from the plane we had just gotten off. After all that, we couldn't help but laugh. It felt like we had taken a sightseeing tour of the airport just to end up almost back where we started. Overall, Schiphol is a nice airport with good facilities. Just wear comfortable shoes, allow extra connection time, bring patience, and expect to get plenty of steps in.
