We just want to pay our dang taxes!…read more While we got a reply to our inquiry with a referral to another office, the gentleman mentioned that he did not know the professional's thoughts on serving LGBT people. I mean he did not just offer that up, I specifically asked to find this out after a bad experience at another firm, but the language struck me as coming from a particularly privileged viewpoint. He said: "I do not know Mr. C___________'s LGBT thoughts. Never asked, never cared." I see, you "don't care." You don't have to care because it won't affect you. I might also respond that while YOU personally are not affected by negative viewpoints or bias, the LGBT clients YOU SERVE unfortunately might get themselves entangled in business relationships that might seem okay at first, only to be found out down the road that are markedly injurious and harmful. It is a shame we have to even ask such questions but these days you cannot take your family's safety lightly. On the bright side, he did know a firm that would "be a fit for" us. I am taking that as a firm that advertises it serves our community, That was kind he took the time to direct us to them. Don't get me wrong, this Sexton Advisory Group was responsive and helpful albeit privileged. There are specific groups that target individuals in the LGBT community (even advertise to us and then let us down) and we just have to eliminate them from business contact. It is too bad we even need to bring this up at all, because business should be business and not personal.

I became a client this year, specifically because they offer tax and wealth management under one…read moreroof -- I was having a complicated tax year and was also considering moving my investment accounts to a smaller local firm. In July my employer was acquired, which created a one-time equity event -- a large block of W-2 income plus a capital gain -- and a genuinely time-sensitive tax question. I sent a one-page summary with my own figures and six specific questions: confirm my analysis, check whether I'd owed AMT on some prior ISO exercises (I asked him to pull my IRS and FTB transcripts), and tell me whether I needed to make a Q3 estimated payment before the September 15 deadline. It took 17 days and a follow-up email from me to get any reply. When it came, none of the six questions were answered. What I got was a rough estimate he explicitly told me not to rely on -- "by no means should you use these for any official calculations" -- plus a note that his system couldn't calculate two of the taxes that applied to my return. The same email told me the firm would no longer be servicing my account. - Basically they fired me HA! I understand this was outside his wheelhouse. He said as much. But that's a conversation to have on day one, not after two and a half weeks of silence on a deadline-driven question. Being dropped as a client in the same message that answered nothing is what moved this from disappointing to worth writing about. I never did move my investments over. This experience made that decision for me -- which is worth mentioning, because the combined tax-and-wealth offering is what brought me in. If you're considering them for both, I'd want to see how they handle a complicated tax year before you hand over anything else. If I can't trust you for the little stuff, how can I trust you with the big stuff. One star instead of Zero (If I could) because he did eventually respond and offered a referral.- Thanks but NO THANKS!

This Location has by far is the sloppiest customer service at any US Bank I've been to. So I hope…read moreone reading this does not mistake this as a US Bank review because I very much like and still have US Bank. Verinconsistent on enforcing their policies and do not go out of their way to try to retain your business. For example, my wife and I are on the same account. She tried to cash a $2500 check issued to her. She only had her DL with her that day. She could not because she didn't have the appropriate two forms of ID. My wife is on the primary account. A drivers license or social security number is all that you need. There are security questions established for a reason. I walked in the next day and with just my bank card The same exact teller cashed the check for me. A little inconsistent. Another example of poor and inconsistent customer service. My business account have a long series of overdraft and extended overdraft fees. Explaining to the teller that I was in difficult times and was probably going to have to close my personal account unless she could reverse one of the two fees just to help me get it back to a zero balance so that I could keep my business account. Today I had a overdraft returned item fee of $36 that took the remaining balance of my account. This Friday is payday so I needed that $36 to give me by. I talk to the branch manager and pleaded for her help to reverse the fee. I got put on hold for 10 minutes to be told that there was nothing that they could do. No exceptions can be made unless it was a bank error. That very well could be the formal policy for returning banking fees. However having had branch managers provide me return fee services for the sake of good business she made U.S. Bank look bad and inconsistent. These are just a few of several bad customer service examples.
