I deeply regret not reading reviews for Kim prior to engaging her to do my 2022 taxes. She is…read moremarried to a high school friend of my father's, and offered her services when they reconnected. If this is how she treats individuals she has personal ties with, I can't imagine how she acts with strangers. The upshot of it all is that she made an error on my return - one that I questioned numerous times, but she assured me was correct. Although it seemed inaccurate (as someone who never owed more than a couple thousand, I owed nearly $50k, a huge surprise), I eventually allowed Kim to file. Fast forward a few months, and I reached out to a tax preparer friend for assistance planning for 2023 taxes (not wanting to be taken by surprise again). She reviewed my taxes and came to the same conclusion that Kim had made an error. Revising the return would be a refund of nearly $40k. I immediately reached out to Kim & we began a game of cat and mouse I am still playing today. I do not wish to pay another couple hundred dollars to have someone else recreate my return on order for me to amend it. I simply need Kim to update a couple numbers and refile. But she has ignored me steadfastly for almost four months. I have sent daily emails for the past months, weekly prior to that, and call at least once a week. Occasionally, she will provide some excuse (sick, out of town, etc) and say she'd respond next week. But she would never respond, and I would continue my calls and emails. At this point, I haven't heard from her since Christmas (3 months ago). To be clear, I am not angry about the error. While annoying, it can easily be fixed and caused no lasting financial damage or stress. However, working with Kim (even on the original return) has been an unbelievable headache. How someone can conduct a business without being reachable or reliable is beyond me. It is entirely unprofessional and rude. At this point, all I am asking when I reach out to her is for her to let me know what software she used and if I can have the working file so I don't have to start from scratch. She can't even deign to respond to me. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and anywhere else I can warn others of this gross negligence and unprofessional conduct.

Sure enough I recieved an additional $2k back in my taxes I wouldn't have found otherwise, and I have the peace of mind that it was done correctly. Around 3 years ago it seems like their offices got more clients or not sure why, but not only her but her employees (Paula and Pam) made several mistakes with me. The biggest one was when Laurie, the CPA, put my son as a dependent for both, my ex husband and I, a mistake that could have cost us a huge fraud problem with the IRS, and of course, CPAs are never liable, so be careful. About her employees, when I call for appmt, they do not return my call or they make silly excuses that "your mailbox was full" yeah, of course, but I called 3 times for a period of a month and just now you decided to return my call? Also I never receive the packages that we have to fill out in order for THEM to make it easier and not too much time with clients. Now they raised prices 10 percent!, like if we did not have enough with the pandemic and the lack of jobs, so they are not cooperative at all!. Last but not least, when we make them aware of their mistakes, their answer is, basically, "since it seems like we make many mistakes with you, you can pick some other place." Be careful!! I am not talking for myself, I have known of others complaining as well, but that, I cannot prove, I just speak out for my more than 10 years experience with her, like I said, everything was okay for the first 6, 7 years, but I would not recommend her office not in San Bernardino or Riverside, or whatever they keep adding, since it is always the same people.
