I find the closest location to me and go there with all of the documents necessary to do the transaction. I am instantly told that I cannot do it because the home I am purchasing is in Marion County and this is Sumter County, according to the snide young woman behind the counter. Knowing this is a lie, I tell her I am supposed to be able to register my tag in any county regardless of where I live. Looking somewhat surprised that I knew that fact, she then says oh, that's right, but you're gonna have to wait behind all the people who are from Sumter County and you're gonna be here all day. I'm not sure if the tax collector or the young lady behind the counter realizes it but, this is a state tag not a county tag.

We moved here from Maryland, and it is so much easier to get your car registered, driver's license, pay your taxes, etc. You can go online and make an appointment ahead of time and then there is basically no wait. Or, you can get a number when you check in and wait to be called. Even that route is usually pretty quick and the staff has always been helpful and friendly. We've been there for several things so far, and it's always been a good experience. We go to the one on Powell Road. They also have a drive through for certain services. In addition, the Library is at this same location, so if you need a library card, it's super easy to get one in person.

Wow, Just terrible agency. I was left stranded on the side of the road for nearly 5 hours while…read moreI was getting the runaround with roadside assistance. (Roadside assistance is not through State Farm but a vendor, however legally they are responsible for the actions and conduct of any vendors they do business with). When I called trying to get these things addressed the following day trying to get my complaint addressed I had the misfortune to speak to Devin who apparently has the IQ of a houseplant, the customer service skills of a rock and the emotional and intellectual maturity of a 5 year old. Trying to pass the buck at every turn while gaslighting me. I won't tolerate being treated like garbage by these entitled customer service representatives that think we should feel privileged they even speak to us. When I had enough of his nonsense I asked to speak to another agent which he refused. He then gave me Ryan's number and I texted him or left a message but I received no response. I called again the next day and spoke with another agent who said they would notify him and he would return my call. No response. I am a licensed healthcare profession, I am a veteran, I was a 9/11 first responder. Other than the price gouging State Farm engages in the thank you I got for any of my service was to be treated with disrespect and disdain. I wouldn't go near this agency again if they were the last insurance carrier in the state. I fired this agent and moved to another. The verdict is still out on State Farm itself but I won't do business with obtuse people who have no understanding of what customer service is.
