Being on holiday one usually wants to try different restaurants without a repeat, but we actually went to Wax more than once because it was so good. The most important part, the food, soooo good. The fried lulas were oh so crispy and fresh. The black pasta was extremely flavorful, and had so much smoked salmon and shrimp. And the shrimp and smoked salmon sandwich was out of this world! Also, they have an ice cream shop by the entrance with several delicious flavors and generous portions. Besides the amazing food, drinks were delicious, and ambiance was fabulous. Upstairs they have several tables right on the beach, what else could you ask for?

We had wraps made of shrimp, mango and queso creama (like a light cream cheese) garnished with some dark greens I couldn't identify (but definitely not kale; they were very mild flavored). I had my heart set on pizza that I saw on the menu on-line but they weren't serving pizza last night so I was prepared to be disappointed but the wraps were delicious! We also each had a glass of Portuguese green wine with the meal and a bottle of red wine to "take away." Both were recommended by the waitress and both were very good. The entire bill for 2 wraps, two glasses of wine and a carry out bottle of wine was €50. We were so pleased we're going back for breakfast when it opens this morning.
