(I can never remember exactly when) which is damn Crafty. The Crafting is pretty sharp otherwise, but after you've see the prices at Jaqen a few blocks up - enough to freeze the vats of Craft in your veins! - you'll think different. So they they normally only have 4-6 Craft taps and a lot of Belgian brew, but I don't know, I just dig the place. Just ask for the bottle list, I once had a Swedish Craft from Hilma brewed with actual French fries! Tasted like a 4am McDonalds in a bottle. The Craftenders are righteous. You'll need to buff up your glass of Craft French though. Mutant Disco II from Põhjala in Estonia any Crafter? Yes please! My Craft Jesus rating a 'my most Craftish taproom in France' 83 IBU

Husband fancies himself a beer guru (who knew you could become a guru at something by chilling on the couch with your best bud for hours on end?!) and loved sampling the American-style IPAs brewed in Italy and Sweden. I happily sipped every last drop of my just-right sour ale. Les Berthom has dozens and dozens of beers on tap and in bottles, as well as a full bar. The snacks are small but mighty; we ordered all of them (obviously...) and I had to have my gooey cheese-drenched spoon pried from my salty sausage-coated fingers. Great vibe and attentive service as well--I'll certainly hit up again the next time I'm in Bordeaux.

This place was no different. Small restaurant in the the small village of Saint Emilion outside of Bordeaux. Adorable. Great view. Delicious cheese Delicious wine. Friendly service even though we asked for something they don't serve during lunch. So why remove a star this time. I have to differentiate these wonderful places and my only complaint is you have a menu on the street but aren't serving everything on the menu at that time. It's odd. The menu on the street advertised a plate of farmed cheese but that was only a dinner option and we were there during lunch. Why advertise it then? Anyway, be forewarned and remember the current "carte" is what they give you at the table-not what they advertise at the street. Nevertheless, they did have a charcuterie board and they gave it to us with only cheese, and they offered it-we didn't even ask. You know what? 5 stars. I changed it before posting. I don't care if the rest of my review no longer makes sense. There's no reason to take a star away. Great cheese, great wine, great views, friendly service that went out of their way to accommodate Americans who wanted something not on the menu. 5 stars it is.

Plenty of Trappistes as well, and some fruity ones too. I went for a Pêcheresse and it was gorgeous as per usual. The only 'hic', is that they gave me a wrong glass for it. I was not in the mood to argue, but it showed that they are not immensely experts in Belgian beers. They also had the usual charcuterie platters, which seemed lovely. Service was nice, music as well.

Hurrah! Just....hurrah!…read more As somewhat of a novice to the Belgian beer, my first visit to Titi Twister was a night I'll not forget in a hurry. Who knew that beers could be so varied, so bitter yet so sweet, so colourful and so wonderfully delicious? Well maybe you did, but I certainly didn't. I felt as though I had been introduced to a lovely new subculture that I hadn't even known existed. Being in Bordeaux I had expected, if anything, to have my mind blown by the famous red wine of this mighty grape region. But, as far as alcoholic beverages are concerned, it was definitely my introduction to Belgian beers that was the bigger eye opener (sorry to all you winos!) Titi Twister is a pub in central Bordeaux, a mere two minute stroll from the Place de la Victoire. It is run by a merry band of English people (all fluent in French though ne vous inquiétez pas!) and, I say merry, I think it very much depends on what mood they are in, as I was unfortunate enough to have a run in with them in a bad mood that offended me so much I got up and left my drink, and that is the only thing preventing me from donning the whole five stars, it certainly wouldn't stop me from ever going back, they're normally very jolly indeed. I must give a particular mention to Rosie, my favourite barmaid in Bordeaux who was always smiling and chirpy and ready to natter away in French or English. Variety. That's a buzzword I would use to describe this bar. It's only small, but you get a real variety of people through its doors: young and old, French and English, even the pet dogs are welcome (though I guess that's pretty standard in France). Next is the variety of beers, golly there are many of them, a couple of familiars as well as many that I have never heard of before, it means you can never get bored, at least I couldn't, I found myself wanting to work my way through as much of the menu as possible. Next in variety: glasses. Many of the beers have their own individual glasses - it's fantastic! There can be four of you around a table, all drinking a different beer and all with different glasses - hey I never said that simple thinks didn't please me. My favourite was the glass for a beer called Kwak, it is essentially reminiscent of an oversized chemistry conical flask/test tube in an oversized test tube holder - so much fun to drink from! The prices here are a bit more than what you would expect to pay for an average pint in Bordeaux, but that's because they aren't your average pint. You definitely get what you pay for in terms of flavour, service and experience. You can even get little shots of the different beers to try before you choose - very helpful when you can't decide! Finalement...c'est nickel quoi! Bien sûr que je revienne...Bordeaux m'attend!
