I had the blond and my wife had the ambree. Both very very tasty. The blonde had notes of something I could not put my finger on but the proprietor said it just had hops and barely. But he uses old wine barrels. Or was it the yeast? Brune on the second visit. So far the Ambree is our favorite. Which she had again. Fun little spot. Now been twice. Patrice is very interesting and has interesting travels. Spend a little time with him, if you can.

Yet, it somehow manages to pull all this off without being kitschy, probably because everything is real and much of it is signed by actual pilots! The bar is clearly a labour of love for the owner, who is friendly, though not effusive. The beer itself is well-poured, so no complaints on that score either. You could spend many hours in there examining the various artifacts, posters, photographs, diagrams, etc. and still have much to see on the next trip. The place is great for both the young and old with plenty of seating areas, inside and out, and plenty of cover outside to protect you from the summer sun. Inside the bar you have a number of TVs to watch the sport (which is always a great occassion when France are playing, especially Rugby and Football). There is an electronic darts board and a pool table and the place is very child friendly. The Bar staff speak both French and English (and no doubt a number of other languages) so no reason to feel shy about going in if you don't speak the local lingo. The place has recently started to do food. I have not eaten here but those I know who have have said that it is very good pub food. The beer is varied and very tasty although a little bit pricey!, although in true French fashion you can opt for a tea or coffee. A great little spot to meet up and enjoy a beer (or three!!)

Market day was particularly bad. Aside from that we went late one Saturday night and had a great meal from their small selection of typical brasserie meals which were really well priced and great value for money. It was also great to soak in the local atmosphere as the bar was really busy with lots of people having a good time including about a dozen members of staff perhaps they should put them on the early shift! A special mention for the frites which were outstanding.
