Taverna Latina. Right by the tennis club in Bad Godesberg. Lovely setting. South American Restaurant.
Stays open late. Which is why they only open for drinks af 16.00 hrs and food from 18.00 hrs onwards.
Now, if, as I do, you speak Spanish, you can chat with the owner and his wife in their own language, though their German is very impressive.
The food is mainly in the form of Tapas, those small titbits (not cheaply) served to accompany drinks and, presusumably, to prevent you from falling asleep and slipping under the table. Though they also serve full sized meals. And very good they are too! As is the friendly service. English is fluent, as is German and, of course, Spanish.
Full of people inside the ample space, and outside on the Huge Terrace...some of the tables are under trees. Something to keep in mind in hot summers!
Outside is a regular parking plus, if you can squeeze in, parking in front of the restaurant, with reserved parking from 18.00hrs for the infirm Persons amonst us.
So...why only four stars, you may wonder. Because if you have a Café-Restaurant beside a bunch of sweaty Tennis Players, the least you can do is cater to their needs...drinks, food etc.
Or am I wrong? They can, after all, cross the car park and go and collapse for a drink etc. at the Stadthalle Terrace just down the road.
And they will be very well looked after by a Sri Lankan Gentleman by the name of Mr Anthony.
In the Taverna rwo of the waitresses gallopimg about are called Caroline.
Both are fluent in English. One is blonde and beautiful, the other very nice and attractive in a Motherly sort of way. Plus also more Staff if required..
Now then, having made sure that I will probably never be spoken to again, I will quietly bow out!
But I really do enjoy the place, as do so many others.I do hope that you do too.
Have a pleasant evening there.
