A great spot for a meal in Terni, Italy. Taverna del Contadino was able to welcome two of us and prepare a table despite being packed for Sunday pranzo (Early afternoon dinner).
We weren't planning on having the typical multi-course meal, just a plate of hand made pasta, and they were happy to accommodate us. My Ciriole with truffles (14€), a dish of hand-made pasta in the traditional style of Terni, sported an almost embarrassing amount of truffles and transported me to holiday meals at my nonna's home. The picchianelli were sauced with a rich, meaty ragu that sang.
Service was prompt, helpful, and casual as expected in a family-oriented restaurant.
