My husband and I went Vegas to get away for the weekend and we both wanted to get tatted so we came upon this place not knowing anything about it, as we walked in we were greeted right away by the employees. The facility is super clean, everyone is very friendly and the tattoos that my hubby and I got turned out amazing, also pricing is very reasonable not overcharged because is Vegas. The location is about a few miles away from the strip but it is well worth the commute. I also got a few dermal piercings while I was there as well. I'm a moderately tattooed person, with over 20 pieces done. Out of all the shops I've been to none compare to the quality and knowledge that smitty at tatt life offers. Easy to talk to and takes obvious pride in his work I've been to the studio twice and both times been blown away with the art I walked out with. I cannot wait for smitty to continue adding onto this canvas! Smitty is also a cosplayer into starwars, spiderman and other cool fandome. The cool Pops and handmade figures are worth the trip alone, and then you get to walk away with beautiful work! Also!!! I've had issues in the past with artists being too heavy handed resulting in me needing multiple sessions for single pieces due to swelling. I have mixed feelings about this studio. I was excited to find a studio that I could bring in my own artwork for a Friday the 13th tattoo. Hear me out-- this was going to be my second tattoo, and I was literally bringing in a pre-done design that pretty much just needed to be transferred & traced. The first thing that I thought was an interesting choice was that they only had one artist working the Friday the 13th line, while two other artists were doing normal sessions in back. It was literally a 5 hour line (which, believe me, I was expecting going into an event like this) but I just thought that was a weird decision. Another weird decision was to put a non-english speaking artist (PeeWee) as this one person doing the tattoos. The receptionist spoke the same language as him so was translating... but it still kinda just felt weird because I couldn't make sure everything was clear. Either way, I still just needed something really simple traced. No shading, just clean lines. I looked at his work while we waited and it all seemed fine so I trusted it would turn out okay. I also peeked at the other finished products coming off the table and they looked good. 5 hours later, it's my turn. This was my first ankle tattoo (my other is on my forearm). I examined pretty intently that he was opening up everything brand new for hygiene, which was great. What was weird was that he didn't shave the area before starting the tattoo. Luckily I had shaved earlier in the day, but he didn't shave on my husband's back either for HIS tattoo and there was definitely hair there. The tattoo looked fine right after he was done and they sent me on my way. No wrap or bandage or anything... and NO after care sheet. Again, not my first tattoo so I knew what to do, but my friends were there for their first so I had to basically coach them through the healing process. Kinda weird since they make you sign something acknowledging you received after care instructions. A few days later the swelling started going down and I noticed that the lines were not clean at all. There were areas he had gone over the same line, but missed the mark. So there were gaps in the lines. There were also areas that looked kinda globby. So I message them on FB and they said they're happy to do a touch up on the house. Great customer service. I call after it heals (2 weeks) and let them know I'd like to come back in. I also express that I don't have a preference on who does the touchup since I don't speak the same language as PeeWee. So I go back in for my touch up, and guess what? It's only PeeWee there and he doesn't understand what needs touching up. I ask if there's a translator and he says no. So to the best of my ability I convey that I want the lines cleaned up. He eventually understands, goes over pretty much the entire tattoo and sends me on my way. Again, no shave and no bandage. I tip another $5. In the end, the tattoo looks better but it's still like.. 85% to my liking. After the touchup, there's VERY slight blowout (though I know this is common on ankle tattoos) and there's still a faint line where you can see he didn't go over the line exactly in the same spot. But it's faint, so I'm dealing with it and learning to just turn it into a funny story. But funny stories do not make great tattoo shops. 3 stars for the customer service, and the fun event... and in the end my tattoo is cute. But it wasn't a great experience and again I'm not completely satisfied. I get that Friday the 13th tattoos aren't supposed to be masterpieces, but that's why I brought in the simplest design I could and I would still think they'd want every piece to represent their studio to the fullest. read more

This is the best place to get a tattoo! All of the artist are hella cool! Myself and 3 of my sons went in to get a family tattoo, same design with different variations for each of us. Smitty did the tattoos for myself and my oldest son and 2 other artists did my other 2 sons. We are all extremely happy with the results, I mean no complaints at all! We each got exactly what we were looking for thanks to Smitty pairing each of us with the artist that would produce the desired results. Walked in on a Monday night and met Lori. I had a gap to fill and she showed me some cool 'wannado' pieces from her sketchbook, so we chose a piece she was excited to tattoo. I went here on Friday the 13th for their special of $20 custom tattoos. When I arrived at the shop, I met my brother there who put his name on this list to save his spot at 12:47pm. Mind you, I arrived after work at 5:20pm!! The list of clients waiting was completely full & i only saw 1 artist out of 4-5 working. The artist my brother chose said he had appointments that morning and would get around to it. I put my name on the list as well and never received a call or a tattoo. There was no communication from the staff whatsoever and not a single person there cared to help anyone at all. Waited all day to receive no service. This place is the worst. read more
