I realize how a negative review can have an impact on a business, so I usually do not post them. In…read morethis case, however, I think it is necessary. We retained Cynthia on the advice of a friend to represent us in a child custody case. The biological father has not paid child support, insurance, or medical bills in over a year, and he filed a motion for more custody and less support. We wanted the court to enforce the child support order. After TWO YEARS without a court date, we finally had to hire a new attorney. Cynthia would not return our calls unless we called daily for two weeks and left voice messages. In 24 months, she filed a total of three documents, and two of those were generic boilerplate. When we called about a court date that had been set to dismiss the case for lack of activity, she seemed unaware of it. She arrived 20 minutes late for the hearing. While we sat there without an attorney, the opposing counsel complained to the judge that she had not replied to any correspondence and would not answer the phone. When the court set a date for final hearing, she asked if she could be excused and told us she would need more money. We finally had to hire a new attorney. The money we gave Cynthia was totally wasted, and we have been hanging in legal limbo for two years. Please, find someone else.

Paid Cynthia to write a letter for me. She said it wouldn't take long. Months later and several…read morecalls and trips to her office later and still no letter. I kept being told by her many secretaries (which she could never keep) that she would type the letter up next week. Haha, next week never came. I finally got tired of messing with her and called NOLO which told me to send her a certified letter telling her I didn't think she had my best interest at heart. I wanted my money back! She gave me part of it. I wasted months waiting on this person. What's funny is that I was talking about Cynthia to my hair dresser and a woman whom was waiting for a hair cut asked me if I was talking about Cynthia stagner. She told me her story. GOD Cynthia, what the heck are you doing??? This is 2018. There is this great invention called the internet that can really put a damper on your business. Please, just do what people pay you to do.

This woman couldn't possibly be a worse lawyer for divorce. She lied to me and blatantly ignored me…read morefor the entire 2 years I was waiting for my divorce. If I didn't know better I would say she did it hoping I would find a man I liked so she could say it was my fault. It took her 8 months to get around to the temporary hearing and TWO YEARS to get around to mediation and that was after she skipped right to the trial, and let me know about it a couple days before which would cost $7000 on the first day, without mediation. I had to tell her to cancel the trial the day before the trial and tell her I wanted mediation then in mediation she backstabbed me completely. After the temporary hearing (8 months after filing) I jokingly asked her if I could date and she emphatically told me I COULD date, which shocked me, so I said "what? Everyone told me I can't" she said "why not?" and that it "wouldn't effect anything because my ex had moved on and was practically living with his affair partner already". That was a complete and disastrous lie. I got ZERO in the divorce after 40 years married and being a stay at home mom 90% of it. Now at 58 I have to find a job to support myself... no one will hire me at my age and with almost no experience although I have a bachelors degree (which I haven't paid for). I'll be homeless in 4 months. My ex spent every dime he made taking his mistress on vacations during the two years we were waiting for her to do her job so there were no "assets" to split which 1/2 of that was supposedly marital funds (her words) and I'd get my half back (she said) but she told me at mediation a. "You can't split what doesn't exist" and b. it would be "impossible" to find out, a 180 degree turn from everything she had told me any other time she spoke to me, I spoke to her TWICE during the two years: once at filing and once at the temporary hearing, the rest of the time she ignored me completely but charged me her hourly fee every time I tried to contact her, for reading emails she charged me hourly, then she convinced me I would likely lose a trial even though 1. He cheated on me and 2. Segually abused me for 30 years and I have medical records to prove it. Both times I talked to her she said I had enough proof and it was an open shut case, segual abuse (non consensual sodomy) was my word against his and the medical records (I had to have 2 surgeries to repair damage) were enough to back up my claim, but in mediation it ALL changed. I felt like I needed a lawyer to defend myself from my lawyer and the mediator. If I could give negative stars I would. She didn't defend me one single bit, instead she was on my ex's side telling me why it was my fault, because I have a boyfriend now TWO YEAR'S later! My cheating husband walked away with everything except for the proceeds for the sale of the land we were supposed to build a house on, we were renting when I caught him cheating so I've been essentially homeless for 2 years living off of $1200 spousal support which I'm no longer entitled to. We're forced to sell it in 120 days!! Which means I'll be lucky if I can get what's owed on it in that amount of time, but after fees and closing and everything, anything I make, if by some miracle I make anything, will be gone. Instead of defending me she tried to convince me I COULD easily and make a good deal of money which I knew in this market was a lie (I was right). We bought it 3 years ago and the market is overwhelmingly a buyers market. I'm homeless, I have nothing to show for my marriage except for trauma (and my ex makes 6 figures).
