They sell a good range of sandwiches, rolls, baguettes etc with hot and cold fillings. The food is exceptionally good - always fresh and tasty and the sandwiches are made to order so you can have exactly what you want. Along with selling cheap hot drinks, they do a range of tasty sandwiches, made on soft loafs of bread, cheap, healthy soup and awesome baked potatoes. Prices are kept at the low end of the spectrum and you are given very generous portions. The staff are welcoming and look after you, making sure you are suitably well fed before sending you on your merry way. You're never kept waiting long in the queue no matter how many people are crammed into this small establishment, and food is piping hot. I used to come in here for baked potatoes and the toppings were slammed on to them. If you're like me and can never have enough cheese on a baked potato, you'll like this place. I felt very looked after by the ladies who ran this place - they reminded me of the kind dinner ladies we had in primary school who actually cared about how much you had to eat and, like them, the lovely ladies in here make sure you enjoy your lunch.

Decent prices for the city centre and all of the wonderful offerings can be accompanied by something from the drinks cabinet, if it's a bacon roll your having gohn would recommend a cheeky wee Irn Bru.

Unfortunately they are currently in the process of opening a Greggs 2 or 3 doors down from here, but hopefully it won't affect their business too much. All sandwiches are freshly prepared to your specifications - which is a nice change from the norm! I've bought sandwiches from here a few times recently and have always been pleasantly surprised. It get pretty busy when the high school is out for lunch, but apparently they are keeping kids in beginning very shortly so that may change. Marcantonio's or 'Marr-keys' rests beside Wok Express near Motherwell Library on Hamilton Road, in shouting distance of a few pubs which gets them alot of business. They thrive on the squad of schoolies from Dalziel High School down the road though at lunch time. I dare anyone to try get served in here at lunchtime. The food is great, and not as expensive as other chip shops, with a constant wee production line waiting for you in the hot plate. Sometimes the chips aren't piping hot, but that's about all I have to say as a negative point. They also do a half a fish supper type contraption which is becoming more and more common which I won't argue with one bit. The ice cream, as has been mentioned, is also excellent. There's also something slightly nice about the wee box they give you your food in with Marcantonio's on it, as if they take a wee bit more pride in their business than other places. No reason why they shouldn't either.
