Brought me back to my childhood! Let's not even get into the ices right now! I will just touch on the fact that the decor in this small establishment brought back so much Nostalgia for me. The owner seems to be a kid of the 80s because there is so much memorabilia from the 80s and 90s era, it warmed my heart. There was a cassette boom box with original cassette tapes. The ices were really great as well, and flavorful. I had a mango with Tajin and it was nice n sweet and sour just to my liking. I also got some sour peaches with Tajin sauce to go.

It's a small storefront offering different Italian ice flavors or specialized combinations already on the menu. It's nothing fancy, but you can take your order to go or to a little sitting area outside. The service was friendly. I ordered the coconut sundae and my partner ordered the Oreo shake. It was refreshing on a very hot summer day. My sundae was a little sweet for me, so I'm glad I only ordered a small. There are three sizes to choose from. Everyday after school, this is the spot I go to! The mozzarella sticks are amazing and so cheesy, the fried Oreos are also so good I've never liked em but from here? I'll eat a whole tray. The corn cups are amazing I get em almost everytime! I get a sour green apple with a bit of pickle chamoy/ kool-aid powder, it's absolutely the best! It's super sour and sweet at the same time.. I've never been able to find a place that actually made something so sour (I love sour) You can always add things or take off on whatever. The service is amazing! they're all so sweet there and have blessed me a lot.. I'm definitely a regular when it comes to tasty waves! read more

Family and I were looking for a cold treat in this hot weather after hanging out at the beach. We found Tasty Wavez and when I say don't judge a book by it's cover....man this place beats any place I have been too. It's creamy and delicious. There is many choices to choose from. We had the mangonada and the coconut.....FREAKING AMAZING!!!!! The mangonada has fresh pickle slices (if you like), picosito and chamoy. YUM YUM YUM!!! I had a cherry picadilly with tropical punch kool aid and let me tell you is was the best thing I've ever had also had the hot Cheetos with cheese and corn with Parmesan cheese amazing!!! Don't try to go right now. Give it a few months…read more 3 FAILED ATTEMPTS. 9 months pregnant and tried 3 different times to dine, each time with no honest transparency with wait times. I really wanted to keep loving Bien Mérité, but after three attempts, I'm extremely frustrated. Each visit has involved inaccurate and constantly changing wait times. My first attempt on 4/10 around 2pm in the afternoon. It was just me and my 15month old baby, there was only 2-3 tables occupied and I was told 45 minute wait with an almost empty dining room. I asked the hostess due to me being 9 months pregnant and having a toddler if I could just at least sit down while waiting the additional 45 mins and was told no. So I totted out my baby and myself, bought pastries and left. The second attempt I was quoted an hour , waiting the full hour and checked back in with the hostess stand only to be told it was going to be an additional hour, on top of what we already waited again. Third attempt (Sunday, April 26) waited a full hour, checked in once again with the hostess and was told it is now going to be another 90 minutes on top of once again the hour we already waited. I understand waits happen, but this level of inconsistency feels disorganized and disrespectful of customers' time--especially when expectations are set incorrectly from the start. I'm just asking for transparency and honesty here. It's disappointing because the space is beautiful and I've always supported this business but the waitlist management and homestead stand seriously needs improvement on honesty and management of times.

We started with the hush puppies, and they ended up being the standout of the night. Crisp on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, they felt intentional rather than an afterthought. The Chicken Ste Michelle had a noticeable kick, and the chicken itself was cooked exactly right, tender and moist. McKayla was attentive, knowledgeable, and clearly invested in the restaurant. Ryan also stopped by, and it was clear how much care goes into both the menu and the experience. I think the boba should have been soaked in some kind of brown sugar or syrup because it's super bland and the drink is pretty mild as well. The flan/custard in the drink is solid though. It is very clean inside and the perfect meal to bring to the beach. I will say I saw something about miso soup but it wasn't explained very well. The menu is also hard to read and a little overwhelming so I appreciate the preset bowls.

Prices here are good with savory kolaches about $2.50 each and sweet ones at around $1.75. I will come back for savory goodies but maybe not for the sweets.
