I have been debating about making this review all week. I really had mixed feelings. I want to give an honest review so people can be happy with there service 100%. I found them through offer up and saw they offered classic lash extension course for $500, the two women teaching the class were very nice and I can not say other wise. However, I find them unfit and not prepared to teach an eyelash course. The "salon" is in a terrible area, very hot and not so sanitary. Also, they do not have the materials needed to hold a functioning class. The class was set to begin at 9 A.M didn't begin until an hour after. The lash tech owner of damedelash and tas makeup academy were the one running the class. Yet, felt as if she was reading through the packet not going much in detail. Occasionally, asked if anyone had any questions. Practically, stuff you could find on YouTube. The demonstration was a quick 5 mins demonstration on how to apply an individual eyelashes. We took longer on how to clean the eyelash when removing them than actually applying the lash. Had no clear view or led light to actually see her applying the lash. My kit was incomplete...Both ladies started the new students on actual people that we brought in ourselves. However, if you are a beginner like I am. You can not start on an actual persons lashes with out trying it out on a mannequin first to get the technique down. Ladies, we are working with a glue similar to crazy glue and sharp tweezers near an eye area anything that goes wrong can be very hazardous and affect the persons vision. Both ladies are very nice and respectful however, being nice is not going to get someone to learn the technique. Not worth $500 or your time. Yes, you can ask questions but, when the ones teaching the class are running a conversation by the desk area is rude and in my perspective just in it for a quick buck... I thought they would be walking around assisting the whole time. Seeing if the student makes errors to correct and demonstrate why we shouldn't do that. But, that's did not happen. Maybe in the future when they are more developed they could run a class but at the moment they are not. Feel horrible giving my honest opinion but many girls need to know before going to attend this course. Rather pay $700 elsewhere before taking the course with them. Don't waste your money girls do research ahead of time. Especially, if you are a beginner like myself. I thought I would fall in love with lashing however, this course made me hate it. I just completed the classic and volume lash course with Veronica, and if it were possible to give her 10 stars I would. Veronica was not only extremely professional, she was helpful, articulate and VERY detailed in her instruction. She was also very observant and patient during the hands on training with both the mannequin and model. She explained each step in a detailed manor and made me and everyone in the class feel comfortable. Thank you Veronica for all your help and advice! Had a really good time learning how to do individual lashes. Veronica's course was very easy to understand. We did theory in the beginning of class moved on to doll head practice for our lash class and our makeup class it was all hands on training. Took a makeup and lash class here at TAS and I loved it! The owner Vero was very friendly and professional and her work space was clean and organized. Vero made sure to be through as well as precise when explaining the theory and had no hesitation to answer any questions. Her patience and willingness to help showed her passion for what she does. I never really write reviews or take my time to write this much but I took this class last week, and my overall opinion was it was a waste of my time and it is just not what it is advertise to be. The photos online are totally different then how it is in person. I just feel like the class was whole mess and I lost out on $500! I understand this class was a basic classic set beginners class. But I do not feel like I even learned the basics to do a classic set. Mind I am already certified so I already kind of know what I am doing. So attending this class was just to get more training, more education and I liked the "instructors" work . So attending this class, going in already knowing "the basics" I do not feel like even the basics of a classic set were taught. My thoughts about the academy driving up first of all, was the location! It was in the most ghetto place in la! I do not live in la, so for me to go somewhere I do not know, and especially having to park my car on an unknown street with homeless people, crackheads, and people pushing shopping carts around, honestly wasn't the type of area I wanted to be in, espically to be learning in. The academy was super hot in the inside! It was literally 100 degrees outside so being inside with no ac or fan was even worst! The one of the "instructors" had someone come in to fix the air and put like a big fan in the back room that blew air around the whole salon. But it was still hot. I understand some peoples standards and expections are a little higher than others. So maybe my taste is just a little bit different than what this class provided. But from the ads being posted and the advertising of this class, I was expecting a lot more than what was provided. The manual that was provided was literally copied and pasted photos from google. (Like screenshots I have in my photos) I am sorry I was just expecting a little bit more and a little bit more of a classy elegant type of academy. But not every one can provide that. So just do your thorough research about any class you take, research the instructions, their styles, they way they work, where they work/ lash, what schools they attended, what products they use, do the research. Not everyone in this industry is out to teach you or help you advance in your career. A lot of people are money hungry and greedy. Only looking out to help themselves!! Just be smart with where you invest your money to get an education, and make sure the education you are paying for is worth the amount of money (no matter the amount) that you are paying. If you are looking to just get a fast certification for eyelash extension, for a cheap $500. Then maybe this class is for you. But for me I value my money and my education, I want to actually learn, and for me I didn't feel like anything was taught. Maybe more hands on, more details, more everything. But I am not the one holding the class, I just do not feel like this class taught me anything. That is just my opinion, this was definitely not a type of class I would attend again or recommend. Let me add to my review *** After the class was held, I did buy some lashes from one of the instructors, just because I needed the lashes and didn't want to go waste another few hours of my day to go drive to another part in la to go get some. A few days later I sent a photo of "dame de lash" adhesive product, it was totally dried up and no longer will come out of packaged bottle, the instructor was very rude and told me it was just how glue was it was a chemical! I have had several different types of glue and no adhesive has ever done that before! I did one set using her products! Worst mistake ever! I really liked her as a lash artist and was interested in her style at first but attending her class and using her products, I feel we're a total catfish! I am so disappointed , I just hope she is t doing this on purpose to make money! Because it seems like a scam or she just really doesn't know how to teach and what she is doing. read more

If an option to give zero stars were available, I would definitely give zero! I attended this "academy" to learn the techniques of applying lashes & took almost nothing back from it! Firstly upon arriving at this "academy" to pay my deposit so that Veronica (the instructor)could "order" my "kit", she was late. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt considering how LA traffic is so I went through with paying my deposit. She assured me that my "kit" should arrive within two days and that she would contact me. About 4 days had gone by and I hadn't heard from her so I contacted her and at that time we agreed on a day and time when we would meet so that i could learn her techniques and receive my certification. That day came and before giving me my "kit" she requests the remaining balance owed to complete the $400 payment for this course. So at this point I am now paid in full, she takes me to a seating area in the rear of this "academy" and takes out some lash supplies in which she begins to separate things from right in front of me. She begins to put some items into this cheap purple PENCIL BOX that came from the 99 CENT STORE, and gives me my "kit". Fast forward, I begin working on my model and she keeps opening her eyes and getting glue in them because Veronica had given this horror story on how one of her students had glued her model's eyes shut so at this point both me and my model are paranoid at the thought of this happening. At no point did she offer any help/techniques to prevent something like that from happening. In addition to that, everytime I needed help and looked back at her, she was on her phone! Fast forward again... I get home and begin looking up the supplies so that I could order more ( since Veronica only gave me enough for about 2 clients) only to find that I could've ordered my own kit with way more supplies for less than $40! Again I had paid this lady $400! I contacted her and shared my findings with her and my thoughts of feeling cheated out of my money and she was willing to do absolutely nothing about it. I didn't even want any money back.I would've been content with just more supplies! Not to mention,upon completing this course, she gave me my certificate in BLACK & WHITE! I have never in my life received any type of certificate or award in BLACK & WHITE!If you're looking to actually learn and take something back from a lash course then I'd advise you took keep looking! After serving as a model for a class. I decided to take the course myself. I think she was through about the sanitation, prep and application. She answered every question I asked and also demonstrated. I would definitely recommend this class to my friends. She also offered to give me advise if I needed after class and advised to asked questions if I needed guidance once I left. I did the Hair and Makeup Artistry program at TAS Makeup Academy, my experience was great. Veronica - who is the director of the program is very knowledge about makeup, she's patient and very detailed. She's also extremely accommodating I continuously called her until we figured out a schedule that worked well for me. I decided on the fast track program which was 7 weeks sat/sun. Aside from beauty makeup, we learned basic SFX which i really enjoyed, we also learned how to apply makeup on mature skin, and learned the differences between "instagram" makeup vs. editorial. The hair program was taught by Tasha, she was very thorough and patient as well, I kept messing up on dutch braids, she worked with me until I got it! We learned many styles for Bridal looks, we also learned how to apply extensions using clip ins, and another method using micro beads. We spent a day working on lash application, clusters and individuals (I'm addicted to clusters now) the last wk of class we took an exit exam and had a final project with a model if you pass you get your certificate on the last day! Which is great I literally went right into a makeup store and got my pro card and started getting up to 40% off my supplies. Overall I recommend this program to anyone looking to get into makeup/hair or even if you're already in the industry, having your certificate and learning the proper sanitation will take you even further! read more

I can not believe how unprofessional this place is. Now having your family members come insulting your students because they are exposing the truth. this is ridiculous. How are they being ungrateful for being charged 500$ to basically watch them figure lashes out on their own. I'm sorry but having an instructor come and separate lashes for you is not teaching nor helping you as a lash artist. We are not making excuses because we "suck" if they would have properly taught us we wouldn't have this problem. We're all different, some somehow master lashing by risking other people's eyes. It's not worth risking ANYONE's eyes. That argument can go out the door. We are ungrateful? We could hardly see what we were doing without proper lighting. In the hood with such an insanitary facility, No AC, Sharing food containers as trash cans? Stools as tables? Oh please. We are definitely ungrateful for paying 500 out of pocket for such ridiculous service. Save yourself your time and money girls. Spare yourself from disappointed.
