This small community in the Southside located in Chesterfield County is as quaint a town as they come! One of the first things you'll see upon coming into the area is the big water tower boasting the town's establishment in 1877. Buford Road and surroundings roads are dotted with gorgeous Victorian homes, with colorful paint, gingerbread architecture and lots of gabled rooftops. The historic Bon Air Hotel is a must see. It's one of my favorite streets in RVA proper. This tight-knit town has several cool antique shops including The Treasury and Goodstuff Consignment. Everyone in the area knows about Joe's Inn, Buford Rd. Pharmacy, and Perk (the local coffee shop) all located in the heart of Bon Air at Forest Hill and Buford Crossroads. In the nearby shopping center, there's a bookstore, Good Foods Grocer, several other businesses. You'll also find restaurants, banks, service stations, a local butcher, an ice cream store, a library, several places of worship, schools, boutiques and many other places to shop and handle your business needs! There's even a small local farmer's market next to the CVS on the corner too! The roads and grounds are well maintained, although Buford Rd. and Huguenot Rd. heading south towards Midlothian can get busy during traffic hours. I love the winding roads near the railroad tracks. Yes, Bon Air is full of beautiful homes, scenery and has a character that is definitely filled with "Good Air"! Colonel Algernon Buford, whom the main road through Bon Air is named, would be proud of what has become of this charming, bedroom suburban town.

It's small though and there's only one area where you can sit and do work which feels up fast. However if you get there before it gets too busy then you're set. I'd come back though again.

It's right on Westover Hills Blvd. near Devonshire rd. ***EXPERIENCE*** I always have a good experience here. It's an easy spot to walk or bike to. They have a good amount of bike lock space and a little parking lot behind it. The librarians who work here are very kind and helpful. It's a smaller library, but has most of the good stuff (at least in regards to what I'm trying to read). Like all libraries, you can put a book on hold or have a book sent to this library if it's not at this location. They have computers for their online catalog. They also have quite a few computers you can log into for personal use. This library is a great spot to get some work done or (surprise) read a book. I love all the natural lighting that spills into this space. ***PRICE*** It's free! It's a library. If no one has a hold on the book you're borrowing it'll automatically renew. ***BATHROOM*** There are single all gendered stalls you can use that are clean. ***CONCLUSION*** I love this library for its librarians, its space, and its books!

It can be a little overwhelming as there isn't really a rhyme or reason to the arrangement of the books. They also have a few toys and interactive play areas as well. The adult section is a little bland. The books are dated. I often have to have books delivered from another Library because they usually don't have it here. They do have a large magazine area with comfy oversized chairs. This library is outdated in comparison to its sister location at Atlee and could benefit from a refresh. The librarians are always super friendly and willing to help.

We only ventured to their children's section that is offset from the library. Their storytime is wonderful, the lady who reads the books to the children does a wonderful job, she is very engaged. She reads about 3 books based upon a theme and at the end the children do a related craft, very cute! The children's area itself is very nice, their are several computers for children to learn/play complete when headphones. Several areas for them to sit and read and lots of toys/gadgets, very nice. As much as I loved this place the first time I expected my second visit to be just as wonderful. Unfortunately, we missed storytime due to a mix up in time but my friend and I decided to let our children stay in the children's area. After an hour someone from the library came to us and asked us if we could be a little quieter. Seriously?! Yes, this is a library but we are in the children's section and if children laughing is a bother why attempt to cater to young children, needless to say, we left shortly after. Overall this is a nice library with many activities for families during the week and the weekend! Story time is amazing!

I've visited on numerous occasions and i always find it to be quiet, clean, and full of a great selection of books. The librarians are eager to help and are always pretty friendly. You always hand the option to have books transferred in or to call if you be late getting your books back. Which is great because.... One drawback.... there is no outdoor book drop. I know right!

As a University of Richmond alumn, I have many fond memories of Boatwright Library. It was usually…read moreopen 24 hours a day back when I was a student, and I watched many sunrises and sunsets from the second floor silent section. There are two basement levels with reference sections, the ground floor, and the second floor up the dramatic lobby staircase. In the entrance to the building is a small coffee shop called 8:15, originally named after the earliest classes offered at UR (although now classes begin at 7:30). It has Starbucks coffee products, pastries, and some other small snack items for sale. They accept cash, card, and UR dining dollars. Food and drink is allowed in most parts of the library, and you'll often see students order pizza or Jimmy Johns to the ground floor. The basement levels are typically quiet or silent study only, as are parts of the second floor. This is taken very seriously, so you should not even whisper or open a packet of chips in silent areas. If you need to collaborate with a group or use A/V equipment, study rooms are available to be scheduled at the front desk. While it is accessible to the public during the day, please do be respectful of the fact that this is one of the primary places for students to study on campus, and that they should be prioritized. It was incredibly frustrating when I wasn't able to find a seat or the library was loud and messy because of non-students using it as a hangout spot.
