A couple important points for partners...No lights on fields 5-8 which impacts game times. No mirrors in the restrooms, a bit annoying. Such a fun night at the DockHounds!…read more The Lake Country DockHounds are in Oconomowoc and are part of the American Association of Professional Baseball. It's just a fun, more laid-back baseball experience and feels warmer and way more reasonable for families than going to a major league game. Parking was only $5 and not far to walk at all. We were in the club seats, which were supplier sponsored for us, and they were sweet! Honestly, I don't think there's a bad seat in the house and the regular tickets are priced very reasonably. The buffet was really good -- chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers and yummy mashed potatoes. Got a hat, watched some good baseball and of course had to cheer on the Leinenkugel's and Miller Lite can race Miller Lite won, which meant $4 beers for the rest of the game! The DockHounds didn't get the win, but we still had a great time and finished the night with some really nice fireworks. Good food, good beer, fun atmosphere and just a really fun night out. Definitely recommend checking out a DockHounds game!

There are chairs with counter tops, your own bar with bartender, and servers to take food orders from the nearby taco stand. There are plenty of food options at the Wisconsin Brewing Company stadium, and a kids area with basketball court and bounce houses. After the game, the kids can run around the diamond (it's a version of artificial turf, so no dirt in the kids), and the players sign autographs. Three pitchers were signed to major league team systems this year, so far! There are also multiple seating and group outing options, starting at just $10. I enjoyed a smoked brisket sandwich and loaded tater tots with cheese sauce, pulled pork, BBQ sauce and scallions. In the 6th inning they run a $1 popcorn promo for the inning, and they also have a 50/50 raffle and beer can race (like the sausage race). This is another great option for affordable family-friendly fun! I will be back, and I recommend this experience!

As a person who doesn't like "people" or "going out." This…read moreplace was wonderful! I forgot to make a review when we sent for the game but I need to make one now. We had great seats for the game, but it's easy to see how many seat in this smaller stadium would be wonderful! It was a great night! Parking: The parking is fairly easy, even if you're a bad parker like I am. We got there semi early and still had a spot that wasn't very far from the entrance. I've never been to a baseball game and this stadium made me feel like I was living in a movie. The music. The food. It was great. The staff in every area were wonderful. I was super thankful for all the people who knew how things worked! Bathrooms:The bathrooms were okay, there were a large amount of them. But they weren't very clean. Food: The food was pretty decent when I finally had my burger, beer and nachos. There were a nice amount of places to get food so the lines weren't very long. For someone learning the game, I had a wonderful time learning the game in this small easy going stadium. The crowd was very low key. So I had a good time hearing my fiancé when things were going on. All in all, this was a great game to watch at a great stadium. (Though I still don't understand baseball.

I've been to the Duck Pond a handful of times for Mallards games and it's a great time! The actual…read moreamount of baseball I've watched has been minimal (prior to the Duck Blind's renovation, the area barely even faced the field), but we generally seem to do well as a team. There's lots of entertainment in both the concourse area and during/after the game. There are tons of contests, challenges for prizes, and random entertainment like 80s cover bands and appearances by C-list celebrities. Your best bets for a fun night out is to go with either a family pack special or a Duck Blind ticket. The family-pack style tickets usually get you a reserved seat, a soda, a food item, and sometimes a promo item like a hat. It usually ends up being about $10-$15/person. The Duck Blind is the true draw, though. True, $40 sounds like a lot for a minor league ball ticket, but you get unlimited food and drinks (including a wide range of beer) through the seventh inning. If it's been a few years since your last Duck Blind experience, they've drastically improved seating and have expanded the food menu and setup. Stations are broken out around the ground floor to break up the lines, and many sides are now self-serve. There are several soda fountains throughout the space (including up in the grandstand), and you have your pick of 25+ beers. It's not just cheap-o lawnmower beers, either; there are IPAs, ciders, Great Dane brews, and more. Food choices now include things like BBQ pork, smoked chicken, and boneless wings in addition to your standard burger/brat/hot dog selection. Lines moved very quickly when we went and we were able to find seating upstairs. The sun gets a little hot, but it was nice to have a place to sit considering the length of most baseball games. Other ballpark fun to note: don't miss Maynard Mallard zip lining in to start the game, and cheer for at least five runs scored by the home team so you can trade in your ticket for a free scoop of Culver's custard.

My men's softball league moved to Verona when Bowling Green Recreation Center finally shut down…read morethis year. While excited about the new venue, I was sad to leave a memorable (yet dilapidated) setting. After fours weeks of play at Hometown USA Community Park, I have to say the complex is pretty nice. There is ample parking for the amount of people that come through there. The two softball diamonds (next to the ice arena) are in very nice shape. They don't get chewed up too bad as the night progresses, though in the later games you might get some funny hops through the higher-traffic areas. The fences are long enough that more balls are in play, but it's not impossible to get a home run. I like that challenge. The shelter near those fields houses relatively clean bathrooms. The covered area will be good if we encounter rain - it's a large enough area to hold all of us while a shower passes. Nice. The shelter also houses a concession stand. They are fairly well stocked, but it's "cans only" for beer (no taps or pitchers). Also, they don't pop their own corn. Well, they DO, but it's microwave popcorn. Basically, the concessions are whatever they can buy in cases and sell through the window. It's serviceable, but it could be so much better. For the rest of the enormous complex, I haven't been able to experience any of that. I appears to be just as nice as what I've seen, and people I know enjoy spending their time there for baseball games, their kids' games, etc.
