If I could rate this negative stars I would. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I love Target and always have a pleasure shopping and interacting with their employees, but I will NEVER step foot NEAR this location again and I don't recommend anyone else to either. Got a switch game for Christmas but it was for the Nintendo switch 2 and I have the first Nintendo switch, and this was the location it was bought from. I also checked to see if they had it in stock online, which they did but was an hour away from my house. Came in, went to the game section, found it but the last one was the display. We found someone to help but it looked like she was running around like a headless chicken; don't remember her name but she had long straight hair, older, and dark thick glasses. It was obvious that the electronic section was not her normal area because she had no idea how to open the case or how to use the keys, she was visibly frustrated and she took it out on the customers as well. We explained EVERYTHING and she rudely claimed she wasn't allowed to sell the one in the display case. We literally had to beg her to call someone to confirm it was true and what was the first thing the guy said when he walked up? Yeah we can sell it no problem. Crazy. We took it to the front to then exchange it and went home and played. WRONG. that's what we thought happened, drove all the way home to find out she gave us the SAME. EXACT. GAME. I call the next day; today I'm literally writing this review in store and it taken them an hour to look for this game. I speak to a girl at 8:56am and I explained what happened and I reassure her that I'll be there later in the day after 6pm because I work and again ITS AN HOUR AWAY, she finds the game, asks for my name and put it on hold for me. Perfect. I get here around 8:05pm, and the same woman that swapped my game out was working again and remembered us, apologized and started looking for the game, for which she couldn't so she calls for help. Lorene comes and from the moment she came up, she was trying to make it seem like it was our fault. I told her what happened,and that the receipt is in the bag, she started asking me questions I literally told her in the explanation, asked me "why'd you do that" referring to leaving with the original game, then asks where the receipt is, then walks up to her coworkers saying "she claimed they called this morning" which why would I lie? Then asks what game it is we want, just overall dumb questions that were made clear from the very beginning. So after about an hour of barely looking and reciting the same things over again, she's just like "there's nothing we can do sorry". I'm looking at my bf confused because we drove a TOTAL OF 3 HOURS NOW only to get no game and store credit, and it's because your employees aren't communicating or putting things where they're suppose to, and now you're not showing any sympathy or try to be considerate? The woman who did our exchange from the night before, I'm guessing she was some sort of management too, out of the grace of her own heart, came and offered to have the game shipped to our house along with a $40 store credit. Lorene's customer service was terrible, no sympathy, no leadership, no brain, just a sorry example for a manager at a place like target. I truly have never experienced someone this rude and uncaring in management. Please took into having her removed because it seemed like everyone on their team had enough of her as well. Oh! To top it all off some Angel of a man with curly blonde hair and blue eyes came to see what was going on, we explained and he went to the back to look himself, for him to then come out WITH THE GAME IN A TARGET BAG WITH A NOTE ON TOP WITH MY NAME ON IT and apologizes. And this CLOWN Lorene turns around to all of us and says "omg you found it where" he goes "literally in the hold box" trying to contain his anger and frustration. Fortunately we left with the game, unfortunately can't stand the sight or Lorene or be in that store again. read more

It's a time old tale- when you walk into a Target, it don't matter what you went in to buy. You could make a strict list and try not to get distracted grabbing anything outside of it, but no matter how hard you try, you WILL leave Target with more than you planned to. We've all been there, still are there, or will be there in the near future. I love me some Target, like most women. It's overall a pretty great store- they have cute and affordable clothes, a ton of home decor/ furniture, usually a good amount of food and produce, pharmacy and more. Going on a random trip to stroll through Target is a fantastic use of an hour or two. This is one of two Targets in Lakeland, and is the south location. It's generally a super nice location, as most Targets are known to be. It's the one I frequent, but I do think the north Lakeland Target is the superior store. This south Target has a really random and small selection of produce, and they just never seem to have the overall stock that the north store does. They are out of random things at random times, so you can almost never conveniently get all you need in one stop if you are doing all your grocery shopping there. Otherwise, this store is awesome. They have a Starbucks, which can be nice if you want a caffeine/ sweet fix. The workers have always been so friendly in my experience, especially Miss Cheryle- she's a star, and deserves some high praise for how sweet she is! read more

Horrible store, long lines at self checkout, only 2 cashiers working, no one working service desk, no one to be found on salesfloor including electronics. Only was able to find 2 associates working the online picking carts. ! assistant manager working (Yordani) and no other upper management to be found. The store manager has to be making his bonus every year with the labor cost being practically nothing. Control payroll and you make your bonus. Shame on these brick and mortar stores going full course on AI....... read more

I don't know what to think about this particular Target. It is stocked very well inside and is quite nice. The store is arranged differently than others I have been to but when I tried the Target app to use the store map, I discovered that half-way inside the store, they use cell phone blockers rendering the app useless. It has a large grocery section but no deli, bakery or produce. It does have a large Starbucks in the front. The staff I encountered working on the floor had quite a tired, wore-out attitude if I could get them to speak to me at all. On the other hand, the cashier was a lovely young lady. read more

I LOVE Target and when I need something, it's the first place I look. I stopped by on the way home after a late dinner, so it was getting close to closing time. This Target store is on the smaller side. Easter Sunday was the next day and since we were traveling, I had left all the Easter Bunny/Hunt stuff until the last minute. Well, geez, I guess everyone had the same idea. The store kind of looked like the beginning of the pandemic or before a major hurricane. Sections were completely wiped out. I kind of jokingly commented out loud the emptiness, but the calm in the store and one of the Target associates told me that I had just missed the rush. Well, I guess that's a plus at least. There is a Starbucks at this location. I didn't find what I was looking for, but I still walked out with a few treats and some snacks that the Easter Bunny could stuff in my children's baskets. I created an account just to finally talk about this store. If you can avoid it, DO. They always seem to have only 1-2 lanes open and with there only being 4 self checkout lanes the lines quickly become miserable. There's always unloading carts on the floor and in the way of items. Sometimes they're full to the brim with stuff other times completely empty and abandoned. Always in the way. The Starbucks is a health hazard and seriously needs some help. As a former barista for many years I can guarantee you you are better off skipping this one no matter how much you need your fix. From the espresso machine which looks like it has never been fully cleaned (the bean funnel shouldn't always be solid brown), to the products that smell rotten when opened (who knows if they are being changed out and cleaned when they're supposed to be), to the drinks missing ingredients/being prepared wrong, and the employees more interested in talking to each other and their coworkers in line rather than paying attention to what they're doing or keeping up with their line. I will never waste my time or money here again. And I suggest you do the same. read more

The 800 customer service is not in the US and out sourced, they are the worst and not helpful. I was transferred without being notified and I had to tell my issue twice. The second representative was condescending and unprofessional. My request to speak to management was dismissed and ignored. I had a coupon and gift cards on my account that totaled $35. I made a purchase online of $31, cancelled the order 2 hours before going to the store, and was only refunded $16.03. That does not add up. I will be sticking with Amazon and Walmart for my future shopping needs. read more

It seems it was only a few months ago you could shop at Target without walking around THEIR restocking carts and their team members had on uniform shirts which made them easy to spot. This afternoon I found a stocking clerk as he was wrestling with a very large box in a major aisle. To demonstrate the issues of stocking clerk carts being in the customers' way I've attached a few photos. Come on Target you could be so much better than this. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is the clerk that stopped wrestling with the box was extremely helpful. read more

Under a remodel for months but very little visible store changes. Mobility carts are seldom fully charged and often have steering issues. They said their phone dept would be fully stocked when remodeled. I waited. Now they say they "never carry phone batteries" so I waited a month for nothing. Lots of red vests roaming around but difficult to snag help (appreciated the one directing traffic at the stands). Used to find good clothes in Target, must have a new buyer. This place just does not seem to be a great place to find what you need. including support personnel. read more

Were the cashiers in this store had even a remote concept of the what the words, "customer service" actually meant, the chances are I would have awarded three stars verses two. I have been going to Target in many places for more than 20 years. I have probably spent thousands of dollars at these stores. So, when I experienced a blatant disregard for the people who actually pay the salaries of Target employees (WE THE CUSTOMERS), I felt it incumbent upon me to speak out. Case in point; this past Sunday. My wife and I were waiting in line for more than 10 minutes when the cashier started experiencing a problem; something with a product. A young lady suddenly rushed over and told everyone to move to another register. Well, by the time my wife, who is recovering from a broken foot, and I got to the other register, it was time for another 10 minute wait. UNACCEPTABLE. That is not what you do. You don't treat your customers like cattle. You physically go and open up a new register and line for those customers who already waited. The arrogance of this person, who is probably a supervisor or trouble shooter, is despicable. I would not have her supervise a flock of geese. When I brought this matter to the attention of a man who identified himself as an assistant manager, I got the usual contrived apology and assurances that it would be addressed to the entire staff. That being said, we might give this store a second chance or, if not, there are other places to spend our money. God knows, we've spent enough at Target. read more

Customer service is nonexistent at this Target. For the past seven trips the first words any cashier said to me at checkout was the amount I owed. Three of them were so busy chewing gum I was surprised they could speak at all. Is it so hard to say "Hello?" Floor staff will not move if they are stocking on truck days - just plan to go around them. I had one experience when one stocker said "Here comes a guest" and nobody moved at all. If they're not busy stocking shelves, though, they'll usually move out of your way as you approach. If I stop one and ask a question, they'll often provide an answer, but it may not be correct. Big exception is the pharmacy staff. They've been wonderful. Too bad the rest of the store sucks so bad I've transferred all my prescriptions to the Publix on the other side of the strip mall. I used to like Target, but this store has soured me on the chain now. Seriously, for the same level of "service" I can go to Wal-Mart and get lower prices. Yes, I've talked to management about this customer service issue, but they didn't seem to care. A culture of customer service starts with the store manager and works down through the staff until it reaches the floor. This store manager either doesn't care or is ineffective at getting the message to stick. The Target on US 98 near GFS is still nice to shop, though, so I haven't given up on Target entirely. read more

I for the most part love this Target. It's right next to my house and so I frequent the store very often. 2 things I've consistently noticed in a negative way over the past few years are 1) the unnecessarily long check-out lines and 2) the insanely large parking lot which is creepy/seedy, especially at night. It's a pet peeve of mine to be standing in a checkout line with 10 customers in it while employees just mill about, not jumping in to assist. And always get walked to your cars, people! Coming from Boston, Florida has disappointed me in the retail department and I shop a lot. Target is densely tiny compared to other Targets I have shopped at. I live 10 minutes away so I am at this location more than I want to admit. It has maybe a 10th of products to choose from. Their seasonal section is laughable. I went in here to find women products and I couldn't find any, well not the ones I use and the other options were . And to top if off......Their popcorn isn't even made fresh like the other Target locations. I rather 20 drives minutes to the North Lakeland location. read more

It's not a newer, more up to date Target like I'm used to. I only shop at this particular Target if I have to. It's almost 30 mins from where I live (but still closer than any other Target near me). I would prefer to drive to the one across from Lakeland Square Mall to be honest. The only plus to this Target is the location. It's near good shopping, restaurants and the Parkway. I've never really had to deal with the staff their, other than the cashiers, which seems like typical retail staff. If you're reading Target Corporation, Winter Haven needs a Target! It's no secret Target is my favorite retailer. I firmly believe they are number one with overall experience. That being said, today I had THE best experience. Usually I'm not "chatted up" by the cashier any more than the respectful jargon they use. Today, Ann at the Target South Lakeland store, was a breathe of fresh air! She loves where she works and it's obvious. She supports the business she works for to the fullest. She asked if I would be using my Target red card to save, my response was "Of course, and my 20% off coupon from Black Friday!" She told me a short story about her experience using the coupon as she rang me up, and then told me about the CartWheel app. She reminded me that if I shop at Target enough I should use the discounts they offer, and she's right! Best and cleanest Target around! Friendly cashiers and the ladies on the pharmacy are fantastic! Most of the time there are enough registers open. They have well stocked isles and a great selection of just about everything. I actually do most of my grocery shopping here. I love that they give back to the community and allow you to help support your local school with your purchases with the red card. Great pharmacy rewards program. Love the 5% cash back for Red Card and 5% pharmacy rewards plus the .05 credit for bringing your own bass. They are environmentally friendly with recycle bins up front and the bag credits. read more

I understand that it's Christmas time and it's busy, however I was standing right in front of a register that was turned off, waiting in a line for the register beyond that. An employee came over to turn on the register I was standing right in front of and decided to help the two people behind me. I had to move from standing right in front of the credit card swiper so that the customer could pay. The employee completely disregarded that I had been waiting longer as well as standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REGISTER. He didn't even acknowledge that I was there. Rude as hell. read more

Not only is this target always a mess and completely unorganized but coming from a person who just quit as an employee there, this store ruined my view of target all together. I wasn't trained properly, the existing workers that were there when I started this job wasted time and didn't bother to do much but the minimum. Also, I was told as an employee to honor customers when they had coupons or when they challenged the price difference, but when I purchased a shirt with a coupon and brought it back a few days later just to exchange the size, the coupon was no longer considered valid and I had to pay the difference. The difference was only a few dollars, but it's the principle of the matter. Why was I not treated as well as customers were expected to be treated? Or maybe not all of the employees treat customers the way I would. I bought some lunch meat as well and when I got home I opened the package and the ham was discolored on the edges. When I checked the experation date, it was more than ten days expired. This target store is a joke and I would never recommend it to anyone or ever shop here again. read more
