You order first at the register and then seat yourself They have seating downstairs and upstairs. I recommend dining upstairs because they have some windows along the wall and it's a nice view of the neighborhood. For drinks we had the agua de jamaica con guayba and a topo chico. I've never heard of mixing agua de jamaica con guayaba but it works well. It's not too sweet, and they somehow balance each other out. It is served in a chilled steel cup, so it's quite refreshing. The drinks came out within minutes of us being seated. For tacos, I would skip the carne asada; it wasn't bad but it's not the best I've had. The stars of the show were the ornico taco and the taco de trompo. Their ornico taco comes with chicharon, ornico salsa (very spicy), and pickled onions. The tacos de trompo had fresh pineapple in them and they were just wow. Please try them. They do have non-meat options like quesadillas and a taco de aguacate. You can order any of the tacos with tortilla de maiz o harina (corn or flour). We also had the half order of papas which are nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They serve everything with 5 different salsa options. I loved all of them except for the yogurt-based one. It looks white and creamy but it wasn't for me. The food took about 20 minutes to come out but at least we were seated. Like I said, it's a crowded spot but I think it's worth the wait. ¡Provecho!

Basket tacos are steamed corn tortilla tacos with simple fillings kept warm and served from a basket. These simple creations serve as quick, cheap and easy lunch options for the day workers. Their simplicity is what makes them so incredible; pure comfort food. We ordered a chicharron and papas taco. It was seriously like 10-15 MXN per taco. Gobbled these up with its ultra tender contents. They have a ton of toppings on the side and even a much revered green sauce to add all the flavors. Otherwise, on their own, they are still quite yummy. Eat standing up and pay when you are done, the honor system in full play here. It definitely beat searching down a sit down restaurant or eating at one of the touristy eateries within the Coyoacan Market.

The difficult thing about the tacos de canasta is that they "move" and they are usually not in just "one place", so we were happy to find two guys which sell them every day at the same spot! They are conveniently located two blocks from Frida and Diego's house in Coyoacan and in front of a bodega. We tried their chicharron and bean tacos, and they were delicious! Their salsa verde was the BOMB! Tacos de canasta are very cheap and a few pesos can take you a long way. Please don't try to pay with large bills or credit cards. You pay after you finish eating, because you can always order more after eating a couple of tacos. PS: This location is not the one from the show, but I am using it as a reference so y'all know which type of tacos I am talking about.
