Tacos El Muerto
This taco truck earned its name thanks to being located next to two of Monterrey's oldest cemeteries. Its actual name is "El Compadre Taquitos y Tortas" and it's a popular spot for morning tacos. Fortunately they close before dusk, otherwise the ambiance would be very interesting!
.: SERVICE :.
Ordering and paying is fast: Two young women take orders, another young woman manages the register and another one is taking to-go orders to be delivered by Rappy, Didi or Uber Eats.
The tacos will take a while to be ready, prepare to wait about 30 minutes or more. There are 4 cooks working hard to deliver a ton of online orders as well as walk-ins.
.: FOOD :.
If eating there, you can enjoy your tacos with Mexican Coke or other soft drinks as well as instant coffee, Santa Clara milk and some Splenda or cream and sugar. Seating is managed by two waiters who'll bus tables (About 6 bars with 8 seats each) and bring the order to you. Tipping them is a custom.
Remember to ask for the coleslaw, it's different yet delicious and goes really well with the semi-crunchy tacos.
The tacos are delicious. There are few options for meat and all options available with flour and corn, as well as beans or no beans. My recommendation is chicharron on flour with beans. read more
