Situated on the east side of TJ, off Blvd. Cucapah in from it the Africa Strip Club and around the corner of the IFE, Tacos de Birria El Chavita are, IMHO, one of the better birria taco stands in all of TJ. It's run by a family where the dad is the Master Taco Maker, the wife handles the cash and their 3 kids run around waiting tables, cleaning dishes or heating up tortillas. They make a great team and a great taco. The only food option is beef birria. Trust me, it's all you'll want. You can have tacos, tostadas or a plate. If you order a plate it's all the tortillas you can eat with your order. I prefer the tacos on a fried, crisp tortilla. Then add some of the purple onion with sliced habanero peppers and it's a go. Chase it with a Coke and you'll leave very happy. If you feel adventurous ask for the special. It's a double tortilla taco with salsa in the middle that's fried up with the meat inside. Spicy as hell. This place is closed on Tuesday but opened the rest of the week usually from 8 AM till they run which is usually around 2 PM. 1 PM on Sunday's.

I did not hear any complaints about the food nor condiments. I thought everything was delicious, adequate food was given for 30 people. Carne asada, adobada and chicken were seasoned well and the green salsa had a nice char aftertaste with a bit of kick. Red salsa was too spicy for me. They also do live cooking but we didn't have enough people. All in all, highly recommended if you wanted to do a taco bar for a company event. Slim pickings down here in Otay Mesa.

Siempre me reporto hasta con la propina, pero este taquero en particular con su falta de atención y poca atención a su trabajo tomando ordenes le da mal imagen y reputación al negocio.
