WOW is all I can say. My son is a foodie and we just happened to pop in for breakfast as it was…read moreclose to where we were staying. We ended up there 4 more times. The food is amazing the pasteries to die for and Antonio is by far the nicest person we met in Mexico. He suggessted other places to eat when we were away from the condo and we never felt like we were being hustled just for the money we were spending. Hoping to replicate the mango salad tacos but well I guess I am going to have to go back to have the best.

Stopped here for a quick coffee and dessert. I ordered the mil hojas con fresa which was good. I…read morelove the strawberries on top and inside the cake. However, since there was strawberries, it made the crispy layers a bit wet and soggy. The custard cream filling was also very thick. All the cakes are $65 pesos are roughly $3.80 USD. I also ordered an iced latte. Amazing! I like my coffee strong and this place delivered. They only have crystal sugar which isn't ideal for iced drinks. It was priced the same as the cakes around $65 pesos. They also sell bread and croissants at very good prices. Ranging from $20 - $45 pesos. The place is also a restaurant with a full staff waiting to greet you. Just walk straight in and to the left. There will be people behind the dessert counter for the cafe portion of the store. It will also help if you spoke a bit of Spanish because all the staff speaks only Spanish.

We were looking to try out some traditional desserts that we had never experienced before. Of the many food carts parked side by side, this one seemed to attract our attention the most. We stood by and watched how the Marquesita is made. Batter is added to a crepe pan and cooked made to order. A variety of fillings were available to choose from, but we asked for their most popular food item. Apparently shredded cheese and nutella is a favorite choice of the locals. Joe K and I shared this unusual dessert combo, and the blend was better than I expected. I wasn't quite sure at first if I would like cheese and chocolate together, but it turned out pretty tasty after all. It was a nice ending to our all day food truck food binge at the park!

So, being the first English language reviewer on the page, let me explain what this is. Marquesitas are pastries, to go pastries to be exact, rolled into some sort of a fried crispy tortilla, with cheese and a dash of nutella. Granted, there are a few variations, but the one I got appeared to be the most common. The flavor combo is amazing and it's a true street food dessert that you cannot miss while traveling! The truck stays open late, I came close to 11pm. Sometimes the most unexpected combinations get you, so you if you are a mildly adventurous eater, make sure to give this a try!
