I've always done my taxes on my own online using TurboTax or something like that. I've always seen minimal tax returns at most and thought that was normal. After much badgering from my boyfriend and his family, who have been coming to him for years, I decided to give it a shot. I thought going in to it that I was for sure going to owe this year, having gone up in pay scale quite a bit, etc. Boy was I wrong! My jaw dropped when I saw my tax refund...literally. Great place to get your taxes done. Yalanda is very good at explaining taxes and what you are paying. She makes you feel comfortable and looks out for you. The wait is never too long, even when the place is full. I've been to other places where I waited an hour for one or two people ahead of me. They only take cash though. This place has GREAT reviews and i see why, b/c the tax refund you get is HUGE! i have never had a large refund of 5K in my entire life of doing taxes. But there is a problem with this place, have you ever stop your self and though why such a large tax refund??? Well i did and i started to check my taxes very carefully. The first thing i noticed is why i had over 7k of employee expenses and donations, i am a state employer and i never took any proof to Mr. Tobar that i had employee expenses. As soon as i saw these employee expenses i went back and ask him to do a amended tax, why? this is a red flag for the IRS to be audited. I sure was right. I was in the process of buying a home and the broker saw these "employee expenses" on my taxes and I was question so many times. I had to wait until the the amended was process in order to purchase my home. Thanks allot Mr. Tobar!!! Plus i had to pay back money. Next time you go and do your taxes at this place, think about it!!. Let me give you another reason to think about why not to go here..Have you asked yourself why? Tapia and Tobar only charge CASH!! Wonder WHY?? well b/c they dont declare all of their earnings to the IRS. isn't that funny?? They are CPA's and they dont even follow the IRS guidelines. WOW! This place is scam! I hope nobody gets audit and goes thru what i been thru, by this time i should had been in my dream home, but because this place "tries to get you more money" these are the words of Mr. Tobar "I was just trying to get you more money" . i am now in the hands of the IRS and hoping i dont have to do another amended tax and pay back to IRS. read more

My usual tax accountant was out of town, because it was no longer tax season, and I needed help with my taxes. I called a few places and made an appointment with another tax office, needless to say I walked out because that tax preparer was not very helpful in my situation. After calling a few places Yolanda pleasantly answered the phone. I'm all about customer service and quality of work of course. So I decided to give this unassuming location a try. Not only does Yolanda get an A+ in customer service (she's super personable, pleasant, and friendly) but instead of owing money to Uncle Sam like another tax person told me I would, I ended up with a refund because she spent the extra time figuring out my taxes accurately. Another plus is that she is open all year, no need to worry about your tax preparer not being available in case you need them after tax season, which was my case. After 5 years with my previous tax accountant I'm switching over to Yolanda. read more
