My husband, sister, and I had lunch at Garnacha during our visit in Marbella, Spain. The food at…read moreGarnacha is simply to die for!
My sister and I decided on the lunch tasting menu. The lunch tasting menu included a glass of wine and your choice of starter, main course, and dessert. For my starter I had the Salmorejo (tomato and bread purée), garnished with Iberian jamón. The Salmorejo was similar to gazpacho, but the texture was more delicate. I ordered the rabbit cannelloni with creamy pureed potatoes as my entree. This dish was absolutely amazing! The portion was small, but very filling and rich in flavor. For dessert I chose the pear strudel in phyllo dough with ice cream. It was the perfect ending to such a wonderful meal! I thought the tasting menu was a great deal for 16€.
My husband ordered from the a-la-carte menu instead. He started his meal with the aged goat cheese with bitter orange marmalade, walnuts and strawberries. I had to steal a bite since I love goat cheese; so good! For an entree he ordered the duck foie gras with apple crumble and grated almonds. My husband offered a few bites to my sister and I and I admit we considered ordering another plate for the table to share! The dish tasted like a decadent apple pie!
Finished our lunch with some espresso. This was one of my favorite meals in Marbella. I highly recommend dining here if you are visiting Marbella. Reservations were not necessary in January, but I imagine they are necessary if you are visiting during the peak travel season.
