Before leaving Kona and the Big Island, I felt drawn to deepen the sense of peace I'd found here while working on my novel. By chance, I came across Heather's studio online in a map of the Kealakekua Bay area and decided to pair my massage with an outing to Manini Beach. There, I took a moment to honor this sacred place of healing as the Hawaiian people do--by giving thanks for life's abundance and meditating on its blessings. With this backdrop, centered and prepared by the meditation, I made the short drive to Heather's studio. The massage was exactly what I needed to close my stay, as I surrendered to Heather's skilled touch. Her deep, soothing strokes and gentle body adjustments revealed her true mastery, while our conversation, when it arose, was as grounding and sensitive as the massage itself. By the end of the hour, I felt wholly present in both spirit and body--an experience of the Tao within the Massage that has lingered, even now nearly a week later, as I prepare to leave Hawaii for the mainland. Mahalo nui, Heather! read more

Wonderful, thoughtful massage. Easy to find this gem located amidst a mango farm. I had a delightful 90- minute deep tissue massage with Kind and seriously skilled Heather. I felt soooooooooo relaxed afterwards!! Heather clearly has the knowledge and know how to do excellent massage work; the massage was tailored to my body. I have had many professional massages and this one yesterday with Heather is one of the best if not the best! Had a choice of local organic macadamia nut oil or cbd oil. I chose the former--- my skin loved it!!! And now I must procure some before leaving The big island--- the faint orange blossom aroma will remind me of this fabulous experience when I'm back in the cold rainy tPNW this winter! Get a booking with Heather, can't recommend enough!! read more

I booked massages for myself and my two teenaged son and we all had a great experience. Heather was so wonderful to work with and really cared about areas we wanted to focus the massage on. It was one of my sons' first massage and he really enjoyed it too! The setting for this massage studio- amid a fruit farm- is also a delight! read more

I can't say enough good things about Heather. I received my first massage from her a couple of years ago, and was blown away by how intuitive she was in knowing exactly what areas needed attention (and how to work them) without any verbal cues from me at all. Immensely relaxing and therapeutic. The setting for her lovely massage hale is perfect! So peaceful and tranquil. The aroma therapy was a great added touch that made the experience extra special. We visit the Big Island annually, but couldn't make it last year. One of the more disappointing aspects of that was not getting to see Heather! We are headed back in January and first order of priorities (aside from plane, rental car, and accommodations) are booking time with Heather (in fact, i'm doing that now to make sure I can get a few sessions booked!) Highly Recommended! read more

For starters .... Heather's property is magical and close enough to Kealakekua Bay that one could enjoy a morning swimming with dolphins before their session. Something about being there relaxes me all by itself. It is a space deeply conducive to healing. Heather was amazing in her session. It's clear that she brings a great deal of experience with her to the table and I was appreciative of that in and beyond my session. At the beginning , I didn't know what to expect and then as the session progressed, I could feel a sense of ease and a nice warmth spreading through my body until I heard something strange... wait a second?! ( I asked my self from inside ) Am I snoring ??? I felt much lighter when I got up and the calm I felt from this session stayed with me for a while. Two thumbs up ! read more

I recently had the best massage of my entire life with Heather!! Her space is incredible....a peaceful sanctuary on a beautiful organic farm just minutes from the ocean. The massage area is open aired, yet screened, allowing you to hear the birds and smell the tropical foliage which surrounds you . It's paradise! Before the massage , Heather made sure to ask me a few important questions such as if my body was in pain and where and what level of pressure I desired. She was completely professional yet warm, making me feel relaxed and comfortable with her right away! Once the massage began, I could feel immediately how in tune to my body Heather was. She intuitively knew how much pressure to apply and where to make me feel I had drifted away on a cloud!! I have never experienced such a profound sense of peace and relaxation in my life. I almost fell asleep! At the same time, I felt I was receiving a tension melting deep tissue therapeutic massage! My massage experience with Heather at the Tao Within was so nurturing and relaxing, I am already looking forward to the next one! I cannot recommend Heather's massage services highly enough!! She is an amazingly gifted therapist and I feel so lucky to have found her! read more

Set in the beautiful hills near the idyllic Kealakekua Bay, Heather's massage space was the perfect setting for an excellent massage - with the breeze gently blowing and birds singing. She was great about checking in about pressure and focused on the areas I asked her to. It was a relaxing and restorative massage and I highly recommend it. You can schedule an appointment via email or texting her, so try one of those if you first try calling and get a message that her voicemail is full. read more

Outstanding massages at a reasonable price. Hard to beat. Heather came to our house near Kailua and gave three of us 90 minute massages. We had her back the following day for the other members of our group because of our rave reviews. She did not disappoint. My wife is pregnant and she is trained to give prenatal massages, which was a bonus. If you are on the Big Island and looking for a fantastic massage at your location that is spa (or better) quality, you won't go wrong with The Tao Within. Highly recommend. read more

Heather has an amazing gift for massage therapy, and a beautiful/warm energy that you feel from the first second you meet her. I had a tub soak and shower prior to massage (definitely worth asking about) it was this gorgeous outdoor area- completely surrounded by nature. You feel very comfortable and safe from the moment you're there. The massage was outstanding, it was in this outdoor tent. The smell of fresh flowers, the sound of music and birds, and the healing touch of Heather made this morning one of the best i've had in a long time. Also the price was very reasonable. Simply, Amazing. read more

Best massage experience ever. My husband and I came last year on our honeymoon. We did the 30 minute hot tub and 90 minute couples massage. The site is very secluded down a crazy steep road with beautiful views of the ocean. Make sure you have gas before heading down and leave yourself extra time to get there. When we found the spot there was a kitty to greet us. We love kitties so we were already happy to be there. We were officially greeted and taken to the hot tub which was nice and secluded. We were the only customers there as they serve only one client at a time, at least I think so. They did a good job of making us feel comfortable. We went at dusk which was perfect. We had a golden glow of sunlight during the hot tub. It also had lit candles all around. After the hot tub we were led to the cabana for the massages. The kitty followed us over to check it out. The cabana was lit with white string lights and draped with flowing sheer curtains. There were two massage tables waiting for us. After we laid on the table the ladies told us what to expect and asked about preferences. They knew exactly what to say and ask. It was very comfortable. One of the best parts of the experience was the toasted coconut oil they used. It smelled delicious and afterward we smelled like dessert, yum! I waaannnttt that oil. The actual massages were great. They worked every inch even our cheeks and eyebrows. The pressure was deep but not too hard. Amazing! When we were done they let us lie on the tables as long as we wanted. The whole experience was magical. There was only one flaw. The bathroom is inside their home which sort of kills the magic. So just go to the bathroom first and then you can begin your experience. I want to go back to the Big Island just to do this again. Once in a lifetime experience read more

Let me first tell you that I have had every kind of massage known to man and I do it regularly. I've been worked on by the best in the business. Heather is it. Enjoy! read more

Heather is one of the most beautiful, kind-hearted people I've ever met. I was lucky enough to be gifted with a massage from her on my 40th birthday. At the time, I'd recently had another massage at Harbin Hot Springs, and I remember that all I kept thinking the whole time Heather was massaging me was, "this is SO much better!" The amount of pressure she used was just right--both strong and soothing at the same time. She definitely has a very intuitive sense as well as studied expertise. She surrounds herself with gentle beauty that is calming and spiritually freeing to whomever comes into her atmosphere. She is a caring and supportive healer. I highly recommend Heather and only wish that I were on the Big Island and able to get a massage from her more often! read more

While visiting Kona recently I decided to treat myself to a massage from Heather. It was a wonderful value, exceptional massage. The space from which Heather operates is beautiful, calming and serene. Heather took the time to connect with me before the massage, carefully discussing all of my body working needs and even music preferences. All of her attention to detail beforehand carried throughout the entire experience making it the best massage I have ever had. Heather works with the perfect amount of pressure. I never felt the need to ask for more or less pressure as I normally do because it was all so wonderful. Later I discovered that she also specializes in Chi Nei Tsang massage, giving me yet another reason to return during my next trip to the big island. Pure delight! read more

Serene location on Heather's property, the massage was very relaxing with some great focused deep tissue work mixed in. She has a special touch and a unique style for a very reasonable price. I'll definitely see her again on my next visit. read more

Heather was gracious enough to make room in her day for me. Her studio and entire property were beautiful. Heather was kind and intuitive. She listened to my general requests and created a relaxing 90 minute massage, focusing on the area's I said caused me persistent issues. I also requested a lighter, more relaxing massage than I would usually request, Heather seemed to know just what I needed. I'm grateful for wonderful massage and Heather's soothing touch. read more

This massage helped me breath, relax and drop into the beautiful, calm, safe energy of the Hawaiian aina!

My first mistake was reading the previous reviews on this place..it sounded too good to be true and it was. My second mistake was going against my sensibility instincts and paying $150 for a 90 min massage when other professionals in the area are 30 to 40 percent less. I thought maybe she was that good..but ironically it was the WORST massage I have ever had. To begin with, the drive was confusing as this was a hidden gated property on a steep hill in south Capt. Cook. Once in, you are directed to an outdoor hut of some sorts. You get under the sheets and the Massage lady (I assume Heather as she never introduced herself) comes out and and brings me a glass of water in a mason jar. The massage starts with lots of oil..did I say LOTS? I would have to estimate that at least a full 10 ounces of oil was used on me during my massage. The technique was painful. Imagine being coated in thick oil the consistency of 20 weight motor oil and then and having this tall lady jam her elbow and forearm into your flesh and slowly move into your muscles. It was not enjoyable but painful. I was actually sensed this woman hated me! When I was asked to flip over to the front, she then shoved some kind of eye pads in your socket and pushed on them. That even makes this torture more scary because you can't even see. I thought about leaving early but for some reason the $150 price tag made me mad enough to stick it out. Oh, did I mention that this lady doesn't use deodorant...imagine someone reaching over you with gross stinky sickening armpits and the smell of constant body odor wafting into your nose. At the end of 90 minutes..she finally quit torturing me and left me coated with thick gross oil...all I could think of is how I would get this crap out of my clothes and my car seats..I looked around that torture and there was no towel..just a box of Kleenex. I tried to get most of the gunk off my neck and my ears..and then my arms and hands with a kleenex. Luckily I found some paper towels in my car . The final insult..as I was leaving the torture lady came and took my money and didn't offer me any change. I honestly felt her prices or her massage did not deserve any tip. If you like to spend over 100 an hour for a massage, get coated with sticky heavy oil, and smell dirty underarms..this is the place to go. read more

Heather is a very gifted massage therapist that is a natural at what she does. She has such a warm, caring energy that invites instant relaxation and ease. Her touch is deeply therapeutic and incredibly aware as she consciously melts every subtle little nuance of tension in your body. It is a fluid experience with all the attention to detail you could hope for. I was transported into a deep regenerative space on the edge of sleep...something that is a sign of a very, very good massage for me. Her space is divine, surrounded by lush vegetation with a lovely outdoor shower if you wish and even a cedar hot tub. The lanterns in the evening were just magical. I cannot recommend Heather enough. She is a seasoned, deeply knowledgable and intuitive therapist. If your in the area I would not miss it. Her rates are very reasonable especially given her experience, her space rivals a spa and she will travel to you if you prefer. read more

Have you ever felt a true peace and contentment in life? I have and was blessed enough to be with these feelings post massage with Heather! I've received enough massages in my life to differentiate the intuitively talented and those that may need a few more hours under their belt. Heather is definitely the former and then some! Plus...she does Esalen method (a real treat if you've never experienced it)! From the moment I walked through her doors...I just felt the tension melt away. Her décor and ambiance was gorgeous and very Zen, matching the incredible design to her abode. I opted for a tub soak prior to massage, in which she already drew for me before arriving. As I walked upstairs to the tub...I was greeted by an absolutely stunning view of the ocean and their land. She showed me around the area and pointed out a few of the niceties she left out: towels, a glass of water, Angel Cards, etc. I appreciated her awareness and ability to allow each person to feel completely welcome, safe and that she thought of all the ways she might be able to meet your needs. As she wandered down the stairs to have my have my space and soak, stretch and enjoy before my massage, she offered to turn on music if I so chose. I did...and it was lovely! During my massage I kept reveling in just how amazing her hands felt. I can only describe them as buttery strong dough. Strong enough to work out the needed knots and hands smooth as a baby's skin to calm the spirit. The next hour and a half can only be described as utter bliss. I truly can't express enough about the wonderful experience as a whole and just how blessed the islands are to have such a wonderful massage therapist and being, whose beauty shone inside and out. With much gratitude and appreciation Heather! Until the next time I'm in the islands...Namaste! read more
