Thus you have to queue and pay before sorting a seat and that can mean you and your guests are stranded without a table for a period of time. The seating is available under a covered area, indoors, or the outdoor "public" shared seating - although there seems to be a general feel that the seating is for the cafe on the weekend. The service is decent albeit they tend to send things out as they become available rather than with any co-ordination - coffees included. The food is generously portioned and of very good quality no matter your selection. The coffee is very good and the cute jaffa touch is always welcome as an added tiny extra to your order. Overall this incredibly popular and worthwhile spot is very good, let down only by a non-traditional ordering system and scatter gun delivery of your order. That should not stop you going again and again though, as the food and coffee are worth it.

Left in Tears - Horrific Customer Service Experience…read more I had one of the worst and most distressing experiences of my life at Jam Organic Cafe. I left in tears after being verbally attacked and humiliated in front of other customers by a staff member. I had ordered eggs Benedict with salmon and gluten-free toast. Instead, I was served bacon -- something I cannot eat due to an allergy and religious dietary restrictions as a Muslim. When I politely mentioned the mistake, the woman who had taken my order (of Indian descent) came out and began loudly accusing me of calling her a liar. She repeatedly said, "Are you calling me a liar?" and "Don't call me a liar," while raising her voice and creating a scene in front of the entire café. Rather than calmly correcting the order, she escalated things by questioning my honesty and even went so far as to suggest I might be lying about my religion to get the meal changed. Her tone was aggressive and intimidating. She claimed she had offered to fix it, but that only came after the yelling began and in the middle of her verbal tirade. The situation got so bad that a passerby outside the café intervened and asked if I was okay. Only then did she slam the plate on the table and ask what I wanted. By that point, I was so shocked and shaken that I asked for a refund -- but I never received it because I ended up leaving in tears. What was even more upsetting was that none of the other staff members stepped in to help or defuse the situation. They witnessed the entire thing but said and did nothing. I have never in my life been treated this way in any restaurant or public space. It was deeply humiliating, traumatic, and unacceptable. I will never return to Jam Organic Cafe. No customer -- or human being -- deserves to be treated this way. If you care about respectful service and basic human decency, I suggest you avoid this place.

My favourite is the lemon juice. Yes it's pretty odd but there's something about the fresh tangy lemon that really gets me going! If you have a hangover you should definitely get yourself one of these! Some of my other favourites are the different juice mixes... I'm not sure if they're considered smoothies or what but they're so damn good! All the flavours I've tried work perfectly together. Hell... whatever kind of juice you get I'm sure it will be delicious. There are also coffees etc and even alcoholic drinks if I remember correctly!

I have a little toddler so a library that is situated next to a beach is a definite regular visit…read more Even better is not having to walk all around Takapuna with a little boy trying to track down a snack and a fluffy right after visiting the library. I have been through the cafe numerous times busily rushing to and from the library, and only recently decided why not stop for a bite to eat with the little man, and ofcourse he was delighted. The outdoor seating, suited us perfectly- quite a few wooden tables and chairs at the entrance. I ordered a slice of carrot cake, and a mochacinno and for the boy a mini savoury mince pie and a fluffy. Cake was amazing, fruity, mosit and nutty with a lovely icing, the coffee also really good. My boy demolished his litttle pie, and his fluffy was in a much bigger sized cup than normal fluffys but also looked great! Honestly, I was suprised how much I enjoyed the visit, and I know this will be a regular for us, just for the pure convenience of it all.
