I got a flyer on my car for 20% off services & a $24.99 oil change. After reading their positive Yelp reviews, I decided to call & inquire about a long overdue oil change. The lady (Tina?) who answered the phone was super nice and explained that the advertised price on the flyer was for synthetic blend but my x3 needed full synthetic oil. She offered to give me a 10% discount and I made an appointment for later that day. I brought my car in and I waited in their super comfy waiting area. The guy who was working on my car(Lynton?) was really nice & let me know I had a couple of tail lights out but didn't pressure me into changing them right then & there. As a girl in an auto shop with minimal knowledge I'm usually an easy target. At Tango's they never pushed additional services or unnecessary repairs. Found Tango on Craigslist while looking around for a place to charge up the A/C system on a 1997 Dodge truck I recently acquired. I called to confirm pricing and inquire about a good time so stop in, since most shops now want to schedule appointments at least a couple of days in advance. I was told I can stop by in half an hour, which worked perfectly for me. Based on conversations with a couple of other shops, I came in with the expectation of paying at least $100 for a charge (most likely only to find that the system is leaking and needs further troubleshooting and repair). Instead, after I filled out some basic information and they spent 15 minutes under the hood, they showed me that the freon level is perfect and explained that the issue is electrical, somewhere upstream from the relay. I asked what I owed for the troubleshooting and was told it's free of charge. What a pleasant surprise! Upon arriving home and scratching my head for a bit, I wondered whether this might be related to the horn fuse that blew the first time I tried using the horn. I disconnected the horns, replaced the fuse and voila, A/C blowing nice and cold. Really appreciate the courtesy and honesty of this place and will definitely be back again! read more

They removed a nail and patched my tire for 15 bucks! I called Wheelworks and Big O and some other chains that quoted $25-$45, and wait times as long as 1 and a half hours! So glad I found them and I thought they were very nice and professional. They told me it would take 15 minutes but I was out of there in about 10. read more

Interesting how my girl also got a tip from a tow truck driver about this place. Can I say that the tow guy really doesn't bring his cars to this garage as he claimed? Of course not. Can I say this garage doesn't do honest business? Nope, wouldn't right do that neither based on one encounter. But don't try to pull the "it's probably a bad alternator" bull$h*t on a dude, dudes. Oops, I wrote bull$h*t. Maybe bull$$$$hit is more accurate given what might have been coming. Let me put it this way: if the main guy behind the counter doesn't want to help a potential new customer confirm that the replacement battery to fix the problem -and that's all it was- is in stock nor can he take a rough guess at nor look up the price quote to swap it out because he's *only been open 45 minutes* then just what is it that they're good at here? Maybe it's not so much the "diagnostics" that are the specialty here as it is collecting $35 for moving a muscle and the extras that come afterwards? O.K., well anyway, we left our $35 for keeping our car keys warm and dry overnight -interesting how the "garaging fee" quote was easy enough to be coughed up instantly and was exactly the same price as the diagnostic charge- but am I gonna say that our car itself was moved inside the toolshed? Sorry podner, with these guys I wouldn't say that either. No benefit-of-the-doubt for them - just plain old doubts. Not only did Tango work to fix the problem, but they helped me fight Toyota for a reimbursement for the repair. They went out of their way to write and fax a letter to Toyota, explaining the repairs and costs involved. Thanks to their service that went above and beyond the call of duty, I received a check in the mail from Toyota! Thank you Tango Auto! I know it's not your duty to perform services that make you no money - and let's face it - some customer service issues are exactly that - but it goes a long way. When I checked on the progress of the air conditioning work I was having done, I discovered that Lynton was using my car as either a runner or a commuter. He had my car for more than two weeks, and put on at least 188 miles. He left his FasTrak transponder on the dash. That caused me to look at the trip odometer, which then registered 188 miles. But when I left the car with Lynton, the trip odometer already registered around 300 miles. So, he reset it, and used the car without my permission. Lynton denied using the car as runner. Really disappointing. If you leave your car with Lynton, make sure you take a picture of your odometer, and make sure he's aware of you doing that. read more

I called around for quotes on new brake pads and rotors for front and rear. Firestone is right next to me but they have tons of extra charges. Lynton replaced the AC compressor on my Ford 6.0 l turbo diesel. The air conditioner shutting off under load had been an ongoing problem for over a year that another independent shop and a Ford dealer could not fix, because they kept replacing relays and switches that were not broken. I was impressed by both the degree of communication and how quickly the whole job was done, and It was done for about $400 less than the Ford dealer's quote. read more

Phenomenal! This is the place to go when you need work on your car. I needed a new transmission, my car stopped moving on 92 and I was able to hobble into the first shop I could find. Luckily, it was Tango. Lynton, confirmed my transmission was shot. He gave me some options, either a rebuild or a used one. I chose the cheaper option, the used one, he explained the risks very clearly, then ordered and placed the used one in. I price shopped at 3 different shops and his price beat them all. Transmission went in, but being a used one, it had some issues (all the issues with the used transmission Lynton had warned me were a possibility). This is when I realized how lucky I was. He called the transmission dealer, let them know of the issue and made sure everything turned out well. I ended up getting a rebuilt transmission, only paying for the initial difference in pricing. He also fixed a few things for free. When I picked up the car, he had even washed, and vacuumed it. This is by far the best service I have every had at a mechanic. read more
