After a lengthy consultation concerning daily migraines she concluded…read more-"you are over medicated, you take too many medications, Stop taking all of your meds, now, today and your migraines will go away". I am 63 with a 45 yr history of severe migraines. My health is poor and unfortunately I take several meds. Necessary meds. Thyroid, diabetes, high BP and cholesterol. Polyneuropathy. Insomnia and a few more. I asked her how. Titrate? Which meds? What about the diabetes? Her only reply to every questions was the same- you take too many meds, over medicated. Stop taking every med.Ordered an expensive MRA yet stated it was unnecessary as she was certain it would be normal. She began the conversation by saying- I don't know how to help you. I know nothing of botox for migraines, carbon monoxide poisoning or many of your conditions. What this woman recommended was life threatening. She is incompetent and uneducated.

I have had 2 colonoscopies here with Dr. Harkins. She is the best thing about this practice. And…read morethere were a few other staff members that have provided good customer service, specifically I'll call out Israel. He was very nice and helpful. But today, I took my daughter there for an appointment to the East Cobb office to discuss an endoscopy. I I found that both her MA, Keisha and Jarre who came in at the end to check us out (not sure what her title is or if I'm spelling it correctly, she said she was going to give me her card but didn't - no surprise) were unprofessional, rude and uncaring. Keisha was not rude but just uncaring. She asked my daughter about her symptoms and as my daughter was explaining them, she literally got up and said ok well Dr. Harkins will be in shortly. Why even ask if you're not going to listen or write it down. As she walked out, my daughter and I just looked at each other in disbelief, it was so obvious she could care less. But Jarre really made me angry. Dr. Harkins was supposed to write down some natural remedies for my daughter's condition and she forgot. And we are all human and forget things but I asked Jarre if she would please go ask her and she just flat out refused. I insisted as I had paid my $200 self pay rate and made my appointment. She flat out refused to do it because Dr. Harkins was with another patient by then which I get but I paid for my appointment as well. She said coldly and rudely that they would call later today with the information. It is now 4:30 and no call. I suspect there will not be a call. I find that kind of service - NO SERVICE - needs to be called out. Jarre and Keisha should both be trained better to deal with patients or they should be FIRED. Oh and by the way, Jarre should also leave her bedroom slippers at home and wear some professional shoes to work. We are doing an endoscopy later this month and I will mention this to Dr. Harkins. I am curious as to what her response will be because it will determine if I go back there in the future. I really like her so I hope she agrees that patients shouldn't be treated this way. I understand it's not her fault as she probably doesn't even hire these people but at least she can pass it on to whoever does do the hiring. I will update this after we've been in for the endoscopy.
