Never had a bad meal, love the service and the vindaloo is the best, the place is clean and you can see through the windows into the kitchen which is immaculate. Well done to the chefs and the staff. read more

This is one of the best places to get Indian food. The staff are friendly and will dim anything to make your dining experience great. We had a birthday there recently and they held onto the cake and when we were ready the cake was bought out with candles lit and a knife to cut. The staff member that bought it out also hung around to sing happy bday which, which was fun. We had the banquet which was great and reasonably priced. Only criticism I would have is that one of the group did not partake in the banquet so had their own meal, however this one plate cost just as much on its own as the banquet. All in all I would recommend this place if you love Indian food. read more

Better than most Adelaide Indian restaurants and I've tried a LOT of Indian food. Butter chicken, beef korma, lamb korma and raita all delicious. Can't say much about the decor but who cares when the food tastes this good. I believe the chef used to be the head chef at Standpipe, Port Augusta but could be wrong. Friendly service, love this family owned business. read more

The best most authentic Indian I have ever had! I absolutely love the Butter chicken and my partner loves the Chicken and Lamb Korma. We always get sides of Cheese Naan, Pakora, Samosas, and Pappadams. We also enjoy the lunch specials during the week or the Friday night buffet which is a bargain! They are also super friendly and have never made a mistake with our order. Highly recommend!! read more

Their cheese naan is ok but I have had better. The korma and the madras are amazing. Samosas are good. Service is great, nice and quick. Good choices on the menu. Even if the line is out the door they are quick to serve everyone. read more

BEST INDIAN FOOD IN WHYALLA you can't beat the lovely food you get from tandoori guru!! They have just started an all you can eat buffet on Wednesdays and Fridays and it's $25 ahead! The food is full of flavour and portion size is more than enough! Dining in or take away you'll always be full !! read more

The owner Guru is a qualified Indian chef and has more than 20 years experience in preparing Indian food. He has worked in India and Malaysia before arriving to Australia in 2004. We started our own family restaurant in 2009 and continuously improving upon it.

We asked for carry-out and was told 15 minutes but it probably took all of 10 if that. The food was packaged well and we got it home hot and fresh. The samosas were roaring hot and fresh, with good spice and a nice balance of the filling vs. the exterior. The naan was absolutely as fresh as could be and was warm and soft and lovely. Both dishes had succulent, tender meats that fell apart and there was plentiful sauce. The spice level was medium vs. any other Indian I've had (not hot enough for me, plenty of hot for my wife!) and was complex. The butter chicken had that smooth, buttery flavor, and the gulab jamun was tender and sweet. Not only was the food great, but the staff (I presume the owners) were quick, friendly, and extremely grateful for our patronage. It's a small, unassuming place, but the perfect hole in the wall/mom & pop business that I love to find and support. It's a place I'll be certain to visit again when we need good Indian in Whyalla!
