Today, Memorial Day, I shopped at the Talbots in Manhasset. As on a previous visit the salesladies occupied themselves with folding clothes and preparing shipping items and seemed unwilling to help customers. I appeared to be disturbing them when I asked a question. As I was waiting in line at a register one sales lady said this is not my register and walked quickly to the other side of the store. They engaged each other in conversation talking about the weather and that they had not had a chance to eat lunch. One sales lady named Joan was professional, helpful and actually helped me find what I needed and complete my purchase. read more

Sent me a $20 coupon. Wanted to make a purchase and pick up in store to save the $8.95 shipping charge. Conveniently, every item I wanted to pick up was "out of stock". This is a scam. It can be shipped, which means there's inventory, so why aren't they able to ship to store and let me pick up?? I'm a life long shopper and this makes me think twice about returning. read more

Bad service, had called the Manhasset store 4 times throughout the day and was on hold atleast 20 min each time after no response. Then received a call from Maureen who reluctantly took the order as if she was bothered doing so . Right before i was getting ready to make payment, i realized the total doesn't agree to my online order. Only when i asked her few times, she reluctantly tells me there is a $2.50 added fee for each clearance item but could not explain the reason for that fee..... customer service has gone from bad to worse.... read more

So I went on vacation and packed all the kids clothes...and forgot to pack my own. Yes, this happened. I had a dressy dinner on the agenda and the pair of jeans I wore on the plane just wouldn't cut it. Cue Talbots. The store was reasonably well laid out, with regular clothes on one side and petites on the other. There was a huge sale going on, but despite that, the dressing rooms were well maintained. Kudos to the folks in charge of that section. I thought the selection was great, and ended up getting a pretty dress, as well as a few more casual pieces. One negative was that no staff member approached me to see if I needed any help (perhaps because the store was crowded?). Otherwise, the experience was fine. Another negative was that parking was a beast! The regular lot just didn't cut it for the sale, plus there's only one entrance/exit, so people were crowding in. Not ideal. I hate to shop. It is overwhelming and not fun. But, I LOVE this Talbot's. They have personal service and good quality clothes. It's a shop, rather that a giant department store. Gina helped me find pants that fit, I bought 2 pairs and was out the door in no time. Talbot's is at the top of my list from now on. read more

Shopping can be boring or taxing sometimes but not at this Talbots location. You can always count on a variety of styles to select from. Customer service is always superior - everyone is always greeted upon entering. Staff are friendly, engaging, cheerful, honest, offer great suggestions and helpful!! All personnel make you feel welcome and like family. the style you are looking for, as well as the size can usually be found in another store if it is not in their inventory. This store is the best! The staff is always welcoming, helpful, and professional. I recently witnessed a situation handled very gracefully by manager, Jennifer. On a busy sale day, one older woman was delaying the checkout line with multiple demands, oblivious to other waiting shoppers. Jennifer pleasantly responded to each of the woman's requests, including having her new purchases steamed and hung on hangers. At the same time, she deftly handled questions and requests from other shoppers, and made sure the checkout line kept moving. Well done, Jennifer and staff! read more

The store in always neat and clean. The customer service, hands on assistance is like no other. I missed a sale date by a day and the coupon was honored. Gina, the store manager, went out of her way to find a sale item in Ohio. It is the only store I shop in! The best! I love Talbots clothes and my wardrobe almost completely this brand. The saleswomen who was restocking was as nasty, rude and short-tempered. The woman checking people out was lovely. I'll stay on-line and order from home from now on. Not worth the trip. It's a shame. read more

Yes the Google website was not updated for the time that the store closes but I arrived at 5 PM to pick up my mom and every single one of the employees gave us dirty looks and were not nice. We asked a question they did not answer we directed a statement to them just talking about something and they completely ignored us. We've been coming to the store for a very very long time and I have never felt so unwanted somewhere. it's been a tough year for a lot of people but you would think that a business wants someone to buy some thing. We never leave without spending at least $150-$200 but I was absolutely repulsed by the way that the employees carry themselves. There is something called professionalism and I think that they should be taught what that definition is because they clearly have no idea. I'm very disappointed in them today because they've never been like this when we showed up late without it being our fault because the website was not updated. read more
