It's hard to believe nobody has rated this wonderful hotel. We come here most summers when the…read morehotel is not packed as it is in the peak ski season. As a result, a few of the facilities aren't open, but there are still plenty of things to take advantage of. The staff is wonderful and they deal well with stupid Americans like me that only sprechen a few words of German. The restaurant has an incredible breakfast buffet and serves excellent, tasty meals. My wife has very specific requirements for her food and the cooks do a wonderful job of adjusting to her requirements. You can rent bicycles or walk into the lovely altstadt just a few blocks up the road. There are tennis courts, a pool, a sauna, and just about all the comforts you would want in a summer visit. Want a massage? They can do that, too.
Almost all rooms have a balcony with great views of the valley and mountains. Some of these balconies can be quite spacious.
Like many hotels in this part of the world there is no air conditioning (except in the dining room), but that generally is not a problem even on the occasional warm day. Ask the front desk for a room fan - between circulating the air and cracking the door to the balcony, the air is dry enough to make a difference when needed. It cools down rapidly at night.
